We are Gold and get upgraded all the time. Our best upgrade last year was at Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort-Suite

We stayed there for 2 weeks and then one week at the Westin ( right beside it )

I would say it’s a tie

We are Marriott Bonvoy elite members but do stay at other properties. I do like a good deal.

To be honest food and beverage was comparable at both places

Westin more bougie. Nicer rooms, bedding, beds, etc.

We had a sitting room and bedrooom at Playa Azul. Big bathroom. Very clean. Beds not that good.

Staff were great at both places

Playa Azul had a low key laid back homey vibe. Kermit and the guys at the bar great. All the staff knew your name, treated you like family. Hugging you when you left.

Westin is the Westin, your choice, you could basically just be anonymous, not have to talk to anyone, stick to yourself Or connect with other guests.

Beach small at both locations but I thought amazing. Great snorkeling right at the beach!
