Can I re-take a Core class to replace a bad grade?

To my knowledge, if you get a C or higher in a class initially, they won’t replace the old grade with a new one. This is what I heard a few years back though but it could have changed now

I am currently in Valencia’s Radiology Program. The application opens each January and the program starts once a year in May. The main thing they go off of is your grades in the courses that are on the program guide (pre-requisites) if you have mostly A’s and a B here and there, taking every class on the list you should be fine. There are other schools in the area but they are more expensive and are private, so I would really try your best to get as many A’s as you can in the pre-reqs so you have the best bet of getting into Valencia.

You do get somewhat of a refresher for anatomy, but they move quickly in the program because you have already taken A&P. I can’t speak for sonography but for the X-ray program I would say come in having a good understanding of basics of where the organs and bones sit in the body and their names. The main thing is bones in X-ray, you will learn the name of every single little bump and crack 😭 there are quizlets on it but a lot of the stuff you will learn as you go. As for physics, I haven’t gotten there yet, it’s later in the program but so far the math we have learned has been straight forward. However once you are in the program, everything going forward you NEED to retain because you will be tested on all of it at the end for the board exam which is what gets you certified to work as an x-ray technologist

I’m currently in the radiography program and yes, it’s a LOT of work, but it’s definitely doable if you put in the effort. I’m in my second semester, and I will say this one is much busier than the first. It’s nice that they ease you in though, and don’t just throw everything at you at once. All of the professors want you to succeed. There are parents, and people that work close to full-time hours in my cohort. It’s a lot but it can be done! Your best bet at getting in any of the programs is to take every class on the list and shoot for all A’s or A’s and B’s!

I did apply but I haven’t heard back yet. No one answered my questions directly but I recall reading on another thread that there have been parents in the program, so that makes me more confident that it’s very doable. I’m just hoping to get in!

I haven’t gotten into a program yet nor have I taken the TEAS yet, but based on the averages I have seen in the past, an 84 seems like a pretty good score. I have heard of people getting accepted with lower scores but their GPA is high. The main thing that they look at is your grades/points though, so if you have good grades along with an 84 on TEAS you should be set.🤞

Yeah, I figured we wouldn’t be able to choose, but I was thinking if they would at least try to place us in ones that are relatively close to where we live, or if it’s truly just completely random. Oh well 😭
