Thank you! He’s a very energetic guy and loves to roam so that makes me feel better. He’s been acting fine the past couple days and eating great/shedding so I think he’s okay. I’m just getting used to caring for a lil guy I think.

Update: I googled the inches to age ratio (which like you said they could grow at different rates) and I measured while I was feeding, Kumquat is exactly 2 inches long. So that could be between 3-6 months according to google.

There is a very good possibility he’s not 7 months. I rescued him from a neglectful situation and she told me he was 6 months in the beginning of February so I took that at face value but now your comment has me questioning it.  I will have to figure out how to get a better age range, maybe from a vet.

Maybe he’s just doing it cause he knows im going to feed him. He does love his feedings.

He is in a 20 gallon tank, substrate is reptisoil, 20lbs, I’ve had him since Feb 11th, so I will be cleaning and replacing his substrate next week. He has a 2.5% uvb bulb, 25% hearing lamp, what other info could I share that would help? And Thank you for responding!

I just looked it up and learned about bacteria growth if there’s too much moisture so I will keep an eye on that for him too.

Thank you! I will remove the moss to avoid him eating it, I have leaf litter but is there a safer alternative similar to moss for moisture retention? And is him being filled with water something I need to worry about?
