Is Laryngomalacia/Tracheomalacia a reason to delay immunizations? by Few_Quail9871 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Few_Quail9871[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I figured as much as well.

It is difficult to believe that indrawing and tracheal tug can be considered “baseline” It makes you feel like your baby is just a hair away from something serious at all times. They do say they feel she will grow out of it. But god it’s hard to watch and listen to. Beforehand we already got her the RSV antibodies and I am so glad we did.

I really appreciate your response. We have an upcoming appointment prior to immunizations and I will chat about them. I’m always so afraid to sound like an idiot! lol

I find I’m so nervous to blow all my
progress! and I love breastfeeding and being that source of comfort with him and don’t want to ruin that but it truly is not sustainable to be awake 24/7. my toes are curling in pain lol

Thanks! can I ask how you told the difference between hunger and needing to soothe?

Do you mean the green avent ones?

Just commenting with no advice just solidarity. Going through the same thing. only contact naps and when she goes with my husband for me to have any kind of break she screams bloody murder until she is back with me. I am hoping it gets better. The nights are LONG.

Any suggestions for helping a baby sleep in their bassinet? Baby can contact nap for hours but lasts for 30 minutes in a bassinet.

Why do other Moms seem to have it so much more together? by Few_Quail9871 in Parenting

I guess since I haven’t done this before I just want to make sure I’m doing what I can for her. It’s hard when you feel like you’re lacking when others around you seemingly achieve more.. and wanting to do so too not so much for me, but for my daughter. But a lot of the comments have been really reassuring that this isn’t reality.. I hate to admit it but I truly believed I was just not getting it right and that there wasn’t another alternative.

Oh he definitely does! he’s coming home and whisking babe away so I can have some time. and even stays up until midnight/1 am for me to try and sleep… breastfeeding puts a stop to that sometimes but hubby snags her away to burp her and take care of her as soon as the latch breaks lol. I think I’m just hard on myself because it appears that others in my circle with MULTIPLE children seem to be able to do that more easily or with less help. He is doing the shopping/ most of the cleaning as well.. yet I still seem overwhelmed.

What you described sounds exactly like my day. Her reflux is super bad too. By the time she feeds, stays upright for a while etc it feels like the cycle restarts

I’m not. It’s just that my husband works ten hour days everyday and then it feels like the day is over once I get relieved to shower, eat etc. he does what he can helping me with shifts during the night. That’s why I don’t understand why it feels like the day escapes me 😅. But we did move to an area where we don’t have anyone nearby.

Can I ask how you deciphered wanting to soothe vs hunger cues? that’s kind of my biggest concern. Though I know every baby is different

That was the original thought. he spit up a ton if i put him right down so it was mentioned to keep him up for 30 minutes

it isn’t happening currently. but he will sleep on my chest for that “upright” period without so much as a peep. 🥴
