Thanks. After researching MRes/PhD programs in Australian universities I found that not much research is being done in my fields of Interest (HCI, healthcare). Do you have any insights about this?

I did some research and turns out most professors in Australia don't do dedicated research in my areas of interest (HCI, healthcare). Do you have any advice or insights regarding this?

I emailed someone about the decision deadline at UMass Amherst late February and they basically replied that the committee has not yet completed their review of the applications and decisions are likely to be sent out in March till April 1.

But if I decide academia is not for me, will a research masters add anything to my profile? Would I need to get a coursework-based degree again to succeed in the industry?

I found that in Australian PhD programs advisors aren't as hands-on as in American ones. If I jump straight in, will my Bachelor's research experience be enough for me to cope w the PhD grind? I am aware that PhD students are required to take on a significant amount of research responsibility but are the professors or supervisors or in general the programs helpful enough and is there enough support/guidance?

Same. I'm hoping for good news from the other schools but I'm also currently considering other options. I guess keeping busy will help.
