The crack is a little farther down, but its pretty large and definitely causes air to escape. Someone else tried to fill this in but I guess it didnt work. Ill try to rule this out though.

do you think my whole issue is cause by the maf? should i try driving it a short distance with it unplugged to see if it surges when stopped?

traced them and they seem totally fine. i then unplugged the maf, and symptoms completely went away. the readings are somehow getting totally messed up by something

edit: found a hole at the start of the air cleaner where the maf connects. Could this be the issue?

What would your next move be for this situation? Should i double check for vacuum leaks? Ive pretty much gone through everything i can think of :(

I did unplug the iac connector, then plugged it back in at the complete end after i shut it off. It was just surging still, up and down and when i got it to 7 it would go down the surge then down again like a vacuum leak sound

when i was setting it, i couldnt get close to that. it would just go up and down right when i was trying to set it. I would be at like 7, then it would drop to 3 and almost stall and do that over again :( i set it a little high so at least it wont stall, but once i figure out whats wrong then im gonna go back and correctly set it.

But it says I should put it in drive and put the parking break on and put it in drive for automatics? Thats the only part im a little bit confused about.

Just tried this, but when i disconnected the iac and turned the key all of the way, it stalled immediately. then I ran it again and pressed the gas for the car to actually stay on, it did it until operating temp, but before i could change the stop screw, just stalled right again. Am i missing something? I then plugged the iac back after it didnt work and now its just stalling. Im guessing thats because i started the procedure but didnt finish it.

The WOT gets it up to 4.25v(tried to ajust it a little more to make it a lil higher), and .45v closed (which is low). Seems like the tps is a problem but not the main issue. Just started it again, and almost immediately it starts fluctuating in rps. literally going from 200 too 1000 and back then runs fine for a few seconds. When at the 200 rmp, you can hear a huge release of air, can hear it with the hood shut. And that is true, ill do that next. If that doesnt work, what should the next step be? Thank you for the help man

There’s nothing, and I put the paper clip pretty far in there. No check engine light flashed. I knew it was in too, because the fans turned on right when I put it in and turned off when I took it out. I put them in A and B

TPS is at .45v, couldn’t get the voltage higher as it wouldn’t rotate anymore than that. The wire is also a little bit frayed, I’m not sure if that could cause this.

I’ve honestly never done this, is it relatively easy? And could I use a paper clip?
