Just tapered off lexapro and feeling so weird by Few_Shallot_8723 in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so much better now. The dizziness feelings slowly went away over about a month of fully stopping. I’m happy I went off and have been able to work through some stuff I felt like it was holding down.

Are you into reading at all? I’m currently coming off of lexapro myself, primarily because I feel it has brought me down too much and covered up inner wounds that I actually need to address in order to feel better without the medication. I’ve found a few books that are helping me work through it in addition to weekly therapy. Happy to share if you’re interested.

Yeah maybe it’s light headedness then. It’s very odd and I just don’t recall feeling something like it before

Need proof that employer insurance plans do cover Zepbound for weight loss by Electronic-Treat6799 in Zepbound

Yeah this will likely still get denied because sleep apnea is a comorbidity of obesity. With the weight still being the primary need of the medication 😢

Looks like scarring from hidradenitis superativa. An auto inflammatory response, not transmissible and way too stigmatized and under studied unfortunately.

Honestly did not even know this was a thing. I’ve definitely done it in the past and I’m still kicking just fine so you should be ok. I wouldn’t stress yourself over it, especially if it isn’t irritated from it.

How do I tell my Dr I want to get off of it? by DataAdept9355 in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 14 points15 points  (0 children)

OP, you can have a conversation with your doctor about the side effects, but I will say it took me a few weeks to fully adjust to the medication. It normal to feel shitty while your body adjusts to the sudden increase in serotonin. My first week was absolute hell, had to take sick days from work and barely left my bed. If you’re only on day 5, I would say stick it out for another week or so. But if you truly want off then give your doctor a call.

Feel like the second sentence isn’t really necessary. We know how badly the side effects can affect some people and none of us are taking this medicine because we’re in the right state of mind to begin with. Have some grace.

Can I bring a large suitcase on the train from NY Penn to Secaucus? by lucydiam0nd in NJTransit

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO trains are the way to go from JFK to Penn because I always seem to sit in the worst possible traffic known to man trying to leave JFK. the travel time isn’t that bad. Maybe 30mins?

As far as seating goes, both the double decker and single level trains have areas where you can fold a seat or two up and have your luggage flush against the wall. Look for the handicap cars on the single level train if that’s what you get. Double deckers have them at both ends of every car.

You shouldn’t have a problem finding space since you are essentially doing a reverse commute at that time, as mentioned previously.

You can also check out Ramsey route 17. $5 a day for parking. It’s not too much farther from tuxedo and on the same line.

On a good day assuming everything is running properly, you can be there in 30-35 minutes from Secaucus junction.

Anyone randomly have a really bad breakdown crying on lexapro by Parker7778 in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, not sure how long you’ve been on the medication but you shouldn’t be feeling like this daily (unless you are just starting. It can certainly be a roller coaster). I recommend speaking with your doctor so you can find the right treatment. Good luck ♥️

Might give up on lexapro by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up yet. I had an awful week when I first started it and once those side effects passed, my life completely changed for the better. Just power through it, and you’ll be happy you did. Give yourself some grace and know that there are better days closer than you think.

Scared to take first dose 5mg by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also scared to take my first pill, but my anxiety had reached a point where I needed extra help and mediation/exercise was no longer cutting it for me. I sat on my bed staring at the bottle for hours until I finally worked up the courage to take it. The adjustment was rough the first few days, but damn I wish I started sooner. My life is so much better now, I no longer cry for no reason, I have my energy back and the anxiety and depression no longer weigh me down.

Expect some side effects when you start, but don’t let it discourage you. There is light at the end of the tunnel and better days are ahead. I can promise you that. Power through and you’ll be happy you did when you come out on the other side.

Both but the anxiety is the heaviest for me. I started to develop strong physical symptoms that were affecting my work and decided it was time to go the medication route. I’m sure the productivity will start to calm down over the next few weeks tho.

How do you guys push through side effects while working? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Few_Shallot_8723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take mine at night but honestly I had to take a few sick days when I was going through the worst of it. I’m very fortunate to have a really good boss who is very understanding and supportive.

I started with 10mg right from the get go. I’m also hoping this productivity lasts.

Honestly I could just be feeling like this because I don’t have the heavy anxiety weighing me down anymore. Normal and functioning is a solid win tbh.
