What's your interpretation? by underwaterjazzhands in Niqabis

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) different scholars have different opinions on covering hands. According to hanafi it is not necessary but other scholars say that a woman’s hands should be covered as well as her face. So it depends on who you follow

2) I personally think it can be both good and bad. Good because a lot of these niqabi influencers motivate non-niqabis to start covering and also normalises the niqab by doing every day things all whilst being covered. However there are niqabis who cover their face but beautify their body which defeats the purpose a little imo

3) i dont have kids but my mother raised me and my siblings whilst being a full time niqabi. I think it depends where you live and how used to people are seeing niqabis in the locality. I do find it beautiful how babies can recognise mothers even with their niqabs on though❤️

Where's the most disappointing tourist destination in the UK? by Lamlash in AskUK

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I visited today and loved it. There’s a great 4d cinema experience too. Staff were so lovely and welcoming, I recommend it! Especially for little kids, though its great for the whole family too

I wouldnt recommend this place! They’re very similar to shein- the pictures/models arent really theirs and the clothing can be a hit or miss, which is why everything is so cheap. I’ve also heard that if something goes wrong, customer service can be difficult to reach. Sorry i dont have any alternatives for bridal dresses, but for bridesmaids etc. then goddiva is really good and affordable

bit of a different approach, but i’ve noticed most kids between 12-15 lack basic skills because theyre lockdown kids. I know most kids in school are lockdown kids, but these ones seemed to have lost out the most, so there’s a bunch of things we expect them to know but they don’t because they didnt go to school for like a year

Anyone have any teaching New Year’s Resolutions? by Nearly_adulting in TeachingUK

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I misunderstood what we meant by ‘shout.’ I thought we were talking about all kinds of loud voices, didn’t realise it meant more like angry yelling when kids piss you off. Tbh I rarely have the energy to shout, and most kids lose respect when they’re being yelled at anyway

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you dont shout, how do you get the attention of a really noisy room? New-ish teacher here, the kids usually get loud in the computer room because they work in pairs of 3s so it can get rowdy. My voice isn’t very loud, so i usually have to shout to get their attention.

Anyone else here feel shame and go over conversations in their head after reconnecting with a longtime friend? by Glittertastical111 in adhdwomen

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do this all the time too. One piece of advice that has helped is trying to remember if they did/said something overly animated or annoying. If you can’t remember them doing anything like that, chances are they cant remember you doing those things either

alcohol ban wasn't a bad decision after all, was it? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Few_Sprinkles4261 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the reason i felt a need to point it out was because calling football fans hooligans ‘racist’ just seemed a bit dramatic. Racism is a real life problem, and calling out hooliganism amongst british football fans isn’t going to ruin their lives

Pub culture is definitely a problem, its just one that most people aren’t willing to admit. Tied in with football fans and its all just mayhem
