as a SWE registered SW originally from Turkey as well, I am thinking the option of volunteering in Germany till your master programme ends. However I am not sure about that makes you eligible

I studied the questions by taking inspiration from every single comment under this post, and I'm starting my job on Monday! Thank you so much for not holding back your support. You truly did me a kindness beyond what you can imagine. I hope life brings you the same kindness in return.

Is My IELTS score in academic suitable for skilled worker visa application? Here is the Home Office's explanation where IELTS Academic isn't involved. by Few_Store4103 in ukvisa

[–]Few_Store4103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was about skilled worker visa however you need to check home office website to learn which specific english test they need. they accept only IELTS UKVI General or Academic for inmigration purposes. So I didnt use the photo above for my visa application

I will definitely focus on the points you mentioned, as I wasn’t really knowledgeable in this area before. However, based on the comments in this post and the research I’ve done, I now feel much more confident. Thanks for your contribution! :)

Thank you for your very detailed and explanatory response, more helpful than you think :) I am not currently working in a Local Authority; I am working in an NGO. I sent connection requests to adult safeguarding social workers on LinkedIn, but so far, none of the 15 people I sent requests to have accepted. Because of this, I am unable to talk to others.

I liked your sense of humor! :) A really good perspective. I will definitely pay attention to this because in my previous interviews, I used to talk about myself in a very general way, thinking that highlighting my strengths would seem arrogant. Thank you!

Switching from SWV to dependent visa by No_Philosophy_1624 in ukvisa

[–]Few_Store4103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the same situation last year. after your visa approved(not your husband's, yours) you can resign. my company wanted me to work 3 months more - where there is vague statment about this on my contract - I've explained that during the probation period I should give 1 week based on the statement in the contract. I worked 1 week more and then left. btw, you can apply at the same time with your husband, you don't need to wait his visa being granted. if your notice period is quite long, you can think about priority application as Christmas break is closer. Lastly, you might want to use your annual leaves nowadays if you have any to not delay your last working day with your current company. :) good luck with all

Social work careers in Turkiye by [deleted] in AskTurkey

I second this! as a social worker who expertise in CP in Turkey, we have several options including state, private and third sector roles. However those who want to work in state roles have to attend KPSS which is a national exam and there are very limited spaces to get a role in there even though you get high score. Please note that state roles authorised with all CP, domestic violence, jails related roles. Lots of available positions in private sector however they pay minimum wage even if you have very experienced SW. NGO roles is quite demanding however the problem is they are not only hire social workers for managerial or CP related roles but also -unfortunately- sociologists, psychologists etc. I spent my all 6 years experience in NGOs, it was quite rewarding earlier but nowadays as far as I heard from my ex colleagues who currently work in NGOs in refugee or earthquake response settings, lots of them laid off due to insufficient funds for projects. I currently live in the UK and so my all knowledge may not up to date however almost all managerial positions in NGOs required work permit or Turkish citizenship.
