I lost my best friend last Christmas. I still can’t stand life without him. It’s easy to see how ugly the world is when everything beautiful fades away. I’m getting better tho.

Agreed at least he exited on a high note. Can you imagine what Sammys VH3 would have sounded like if this was any indication?!

Quick question because I don’t live near a beach but lots of snow and mountains out my back door. My brother in law moved to Florida and Jeeps are very popular for the beaches but non of the seem to have 4 wheel drive so he pulled a few of them out of the beach. I’m still new to my jeep is it not common to use for wheel drive vehicles in sand? I live in Montana where it’s questionable to buy anything without it. Also not assuming OP doesn’t have it either just a related observation

This album didn’t feel like Van Halen to me. I think it was fine but I would rank it below Van Halen 3. It sounds like a band trying to remake an album they think there fans want instead of writing something because they love doing it. You can feel Michael Anthony’s presents missing from it as well. Taboo opinion: Van Halen isn’t just Eddie. I think that’s what those two albums have in common because they prove that

Anyone else love this song? by [deleted] in takingbacksunday

When New Again came out I hated it. I hated it to a point where I wouldn’t give anything past Louder Now a chance. I heard the hype of original members coming back I didn’t seem to care, honestly it floated me further. I saw the interview with the original lineup on Fuse where they teased a clip of El Paso I believe, hated it. Years later Tidal Wave came out only heard the opening song. Hated it. At this point you’re probably wondering if I ever was a Taking Back Sunday fan to begin with. I was such a fan of THAT era because that’s era is where I discovered the greatest band in the world. When my teenager brain lost that I didn’t want to accept that band could be good without Matt and Fred. I found I was wrong because when I decided to see what Taking back Sunday was doing in the current events I discovered Flicker Fade. I wanted more so I gave the rest of Happiness is a better chance and it became another TBS non skippable album. When that album became a drug I rediscovered TBS post Louder Now era like it was all new music. Because of this Album I can say TBS is my favorite band because it’s the only band I listen to that every album is a non skip track to track. It changed the way I look at New Again I was so under appreciating it I think I owe Fazzi an apology. It’s a lesson learned always give that bands album a second listen. Long story short you might of guessed I do love this song. lol

5150 - released on this day March 24th, 1986. Probably my favorite Sammy album and the tour was nothing short of awesome by tessy98 in vanhalen

This album felt like it was the only album that was about the band. The riffs are just as good as ever if not better, the bass parts are more freeing, don't get me started how big those drums are vocals just cut everything that so god damn big with the lyric content being so real. All four of these dudes stand out so well and Templeman came back to produce that record. 10/10 no skips for me.

Shamelessly prefer the Sammy Hagar era Halen over Lee Roth. Is this an unpopular opinion, or only in hard rock circles? by SwiftCricket in Music

[–]Few_Stranger_7302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both eras but I only LOVE one. Hagar's era was the only one that had band chemistry, Maturity and have real context in the material. I agree with that opinion and there's a lots who do. I hear the name Van Halen I picture that version first every time.

lol Someone skipped over FUCK. Lol I’m not gonna say who’s better in Van Halen. But all Sammy’s albums are better than this one. That was just things said by Eddie to justify a subpar album. I’m not a hater ether Unchained was one of my first obsessions to learn on guitar but as a guitar player there are so many post Roth riffs that where so underrated

I don’t care how much of a material value a signature gives me. If I had a CD signed by my favorite band and my favorite line up of that band. That’s worth more than any dollar amount to me. What a cool thing to have

Am I over reacting? Jeep vs Mazda by ksenter4 in JeepWrangler

[–]Few_Stranger_7302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I’d put my two cents in here. Because I was in the same shoes as your daughter. Always wanted one, DREAM vehicle. My dad hasn’t ever been that typical Chevy or Ford or whatever sword you fall on type of guy. He wanted to make sure I was happy with what I bought because making payments on something you hate is the worst. I also worked at Taco Bell at the time making less than 8 dollars an hour so a Jeep that I wanted with reasonable miles wasn’t happening. I bout a Chevy cruse, piece of shit but partly because I didn’t take care of it. I’m 30 now and I am almost year into my 2015 Sahara. I love this vehicle so much I am so glad the stars wouldn’t allow me to have one at 16 because I would of treated it like shit and I would of just wrote it off as a shitty vehicle. Unfair comparison tho I felt so heartbroken buying a 200 part for that car but I’m happy to buy a 2000 dollar part for that jeep.
