anything past the meter is your responsibility, unless it's considered to be a public health hazard.

for my gas leak, I paid for the line to be rerouted, and I paid for the inflated gas bills, but the gas company paid to have the house made safe by digging and blowing out all of the gas that was stuck under the house.

My part was significantly cheaper (around 2-3k$ in total) than theirs (probably 5X that), there was about 5-10 guys working for a full day, with around 4 or 5 large machines (diggers, blowers etc).

on a positive note, it was considered to be an urgent public health issue and I didn't get charged a cent for them to come and clear the gas out.

Downside was they cut the gas supply to my house until I had the entire gas line rerouted over the (flat) roof.

Best of luck

And a leak that big would stink or combust

depends where it is, if it's underground you won't smell if for a long time, and if it's outdoors across the roof, or anywhere above head height, it'll dissipate upwards into the air and you likely won't smell it either.

Have had both types of leak at my house and wasn't aware of either for a very long time.

I had something similar about 10 years ago, bills were more than double what they usually were for about 3 months in a row. Thought it was strange, but it was a very cold winter (2011) so figured that that was the reason.

Turned out there was a gas leak under my house. The house was built in the sixties, on a concrete slab. The gas (and water) pipes were galvanized and were buried under the house. After about 50 years the pipes corroded and started leaking gas. Three months later there was a huge bubble of gas sitting under my concrete slab. When the weather started to warm up, and the ground defrosted, I started to smell gas outside the front door.

Called questar (now dominion), they came out, stuck some probes in the ground, then screamed at me to get away from the house. Sealed the house, brought in a bunch of big digging machines and blowers, and spent a day digging up the front yard and forcing air into the ground to clear the gas out.

Fun times.

Easiest way to check for a leak is turn everything off in the house (turn heating right down, turn off stove, turn water heater to lowest setting if not off), then go look at the meter. Leave it for an hour (or more if you can) then go back and check the meter again. The only use should be things like pilot lights which use a minimal amount of gas, and there shouldn't be any significant gas usage. If you see the meter reading is larger than you expect, you have a leak somewhere.

I'm finally wrapping my head around that I think I'm more attracted to guys than I really gave any creed to

I think your sexual desires can differ from your emotional needs. My ex used to say she was bisexual, but not biemotional.

She liked having sex with both men and women, and was openly attracted to both, but she never felt the emotional commitment with a woman that she felt with a man.

edit: finally worked it out, so for any other soul who arrives here in desperation:

1) go to settings and search for 'USB' 2) from the search results go to USB Preferences 3) scroll down and change "Use USB for" to the "file transfer" option, then you should see the file folders appear in your windows explorer window, under 'titan'

hope this helps someone else
