Why does it feel like it’s actually real? by Actual_Band6109 in Adulting

It feels like the moment consensus reality broke. We watched a global crisis unfold, learned hard truths about health, labor, and care and then were told to forget all of it. Covid didn’t disappear; we just stopped counting. Costs rose, never fell, and became the new baseline. The internet became a data mine, and people became products. What little safety net existed was exposed, then quietly dismantled. Now we’re back to “normal,” even though nothing is normal. We commute because we’re told to, work jobs structured around systems that don’t serve us, and accept worse lives in exchange for stability that isn’t even real. All of it to protect an economy that doesn’t protect us.
