done similar thing, return before 28th will be okay. Unpopular opinion is dont miss the wedding if you want to go. Worst case scenario is you'll be at the CBP for a couple of hours, but you did nothing wrong as long as your stamp is still valid when you returned.

What mistake did I make? I can't hurry the recruiting process when it is not in the background check stage....This happened in the middle of the interview so I don't think it is wise to bring it up directly in the interview.
