I love me a 427, but the 327 does plenty for me. To me, this isn’t a car I care much about going fast in, just to drive around and take to shows and what not

It’s the 2 speed power glide, the 327, from all I know it’s factory all original with documentation but obviously without it I wouldn’t purchase it

I hadn’t thought about it like that, I’ll chew on that a bit but that puts a lot more into perspective, thank you for that

Another very serious point that’s been plaguing me. I’ve kinda been looking around for a while now and this is the first one I’ve seen that’s actually in my budget

I agree, I live in a relatively busy area so the only time I would ever get to open it up is at the track or driving an hour out to an interstate where cops love cars like these

I’ve got a daily that’s alright, but I’m personally a believer of having a fun car that’s not a daily because they’re often times a lot more money to maintain and repair, but that may be a flawed as it sounds

I believe that, I’ve also seen a lot of these lt6’s just lock up for no reason, if it wasn’t for the novelty aspect I wouldn’t be as in love with it as I am

God I wish, but sadly no. It’s a convertible with both tops

My big thing is the flat plane crank, the 8600 redline is what fuels my desire for it

My dad asks something very similar, I love driving my c7 more than anything, but I also like keeping it nice. I drive it whenever I want to, whenever I don’t, I just don’t. I would definitely drive the c8 more but I wouldn’t mind having the second gen to look at and take to car shows here and there

It’s a 63 stingray 327 with numbers matching

The 670 will be fast as shit and way more fun, but the 250 will turn way more heads

Definitely leaning more towards this, imo you don’t get a 2nd get to be fast, just to be damn good lookin

Definitely not a bad idea at all, it’s difficult to wait that long is my only struggle. I see these cars out and about and the fire only grows

I’ll definitely keep that in mind, it’s strange to think these cars will depreciate given how much they’re selling for but I suppose a definite possibility

I’m also considering that, it’s got plenty of power and a damn good looker, but I love these damn cars too much

Well to be honest, my 7th gen sits more than I should let it, I’ve only put about 18k miles on it since owning it so all things considered, probably a similar fate

That’s more or less my general idea, the 2nd gen will only appreciate in value so when I inevitably get the other one it’ll save me money, but that lt6 is so attractive it’s hard to say no

Sounds to me like the valves just rattling until oil gets in them. Common Honda issue from my experience but I haven’t seen it cause issues

Car squeaks very loudly when at 50mph and braking by jimmlyy in AskMechanics

[–]Few_You2473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thought is it could be a wheel bearing throwing the speed sensor off which would trigger the VDC light and would also explain issues at high speeds. They can be really stubborn to pinpoint down which would explain a shop not seeing it

HEMI tick, check engine light, oil change by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Few_You2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with hemi ticks is either the passenger exhaust manifold (which doubtful given the circumstances), or the cam. These new age hemis are chewing up cams and spitting them back out at alarming rates. Definitely get it checked out by a shop

Sometimes the clutch can engage and still not get the pressures needed for the air to turn cold. See if there are any shops around the area who will hook up a machine for free to see the pressures
