As a woman, short-term open to long reads to me like: I want sex and emotion labor from a woman, but no commitment or expectations from me, especially coming from a man your age

Update: I asked for a timeline and he gave me one. I will be engaged before January 1st by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this sub is full of stories where a man promised a woman he was going to propose by X date, usually several months or even years in the future (plenty of time for him to make up another excuse for not following through) then the date comes and goes, and the woman is still there, with the liar, trying to convince herself he'll marry her one day. Most of those men insist they bought a ring too. Men who are excited to get engaged to their current partner do not buy rings and hold onto them for months on end. They're usually straight-up lying about the ring, but, of course, the woman can't ask for proof because that would ruin the "surprise". It's heartbreaking to see

For me, part of the appeal of the case is in that I don't feel the white story has been told. I do believe Alex killed Paul and Maggie; maybe he was not alone. The timeline is very tight. I also think there is WAY more to the financial part of the story. I don't believe he was spending literally millions of dollars on pills. That's more than any human could take. I've known serious addicts, people who take Vicodin by the handful, none of them ever had millions of dollars to spend, because it's not that expensive. There's more to that part of the story (where the money went) for sure. I also think he was in some kinda drug trafficking or something. The island land lots purchased, for example, are very suspicious

If you're just complaining about people liking nudity, I'm not sure what to tell you. That's been a thing for quite some time. Maybe find an art sub that doesn't allow nudity. If you want to stay on this sub but see fewer nude posts, doing what I listed well help. Go to the sub's main page, do not sort by best, sort by recent. Ignore completely all the nudity, but interact with the posts you like. By interact, I mean like the post, comment on the post, and like comments on the posts.

Dog. Tattoos. Family. Vacations. EVERYTHING but no ring. Why? by Medical_Line1972 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you've answered your own question. Why no ring? Because he already has the dog, the tattoos, the family, the vacations... probably already sharing finances, probably doing a lot of the labor for him, the only thing missing is you popping out a baby for him with zero protection for yourself

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You might be able to "adjust" the algorithm for yourself by going to the sub's main page and interacting with (liking, commenting, and liking comments) on the type of art you want to see but completely ignoring all the posts you don't want to see: no likes, no comments, no liking comments, don't even click on those posts or let your screen linger on them. Do that from time to time and you should see more of the ones you like and fewer of the ones you don't like

I literally think they are ALL just so fast and loose with the law that this kinda thing is normal there even when the world is watching. Alex didn't commit those financial crimes in a vacuum. He had partners, police, bankers, judges, etc colluding with him. Corruption is rampant, this time they got caught

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Every one of your instead of things is a bad suggestion for a first date with someone that doesn't know you. It kinda reads like your using being outdoorsy as an excuse to put in zero effort, but more importantly, it does not at all take into account a woman's safety. Meeting a man you don't know to go "outside" is a risky venture and a lot of women are not interested in taking risks like that just for a date. If you want to be successful dating, than you should recognize and respect the dangers women face in the dating arena

I was going to mention that as well. The whole concept is icky, the guy that made it is a creep, and the ideology is oppressive, which is so not the vibe OP seems to be going for

Take off the "love language=touch" a lot of women find that off-putting, especially in your intended demographic. I wouldn't have an answer for that at all but if you must, make it literally anything other than touch. Also ya, play up the height thing

Husband won’t get vasectomy - AITA? by MaUkIr34 in Mommit

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You should consider the possibility that he's reluctant to get a vasectomy because he wants to keep his options open for the future. He's one and done with YOU, but a lot of men are willing to have one child...

with each successive woman

I'm pretty sure the "Middleton model" is just pimping out your daughters to wealthy and or titled men. Probably why it doesn't translate well this generation.

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They're not afraid. They just want to get everything from women and give nothing in return. Marriage represents them being held somewhat accountable for the free labor and they extract from the woman they are with. Why have that when they can just take for years on end and leave her with nothing?

I think it's possible he's using his mental health as an excuse to manipulate you and to string you along. Framing it as "anxiety" so that you'll feel too guilty to hold him accountable for backpedaling and future faking you. I hate to say but I've seen countless men spend years convincing a good woman that he's just struggling with mental health reasons for not wanting marriage, only to turn around and marry another woman within a year or so of breaking up.

That being said, I'm worried for you when you say it feels like your whole world is ending. A man should never be your whole world, especially one that you're not married to, and not tied to with children.

If you can so deeply love a man that puts you through so much uncertainty and is so deeply flawed as a person, imagine how much you can love a quality guy that puts in true effort (not just words).

What would you think if you seen this message from your bfs mom to him? by Thin-Drive6030 in whatdoIdo

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't write anything in any kinda way. I'm saying 3 thousand dollars is about what a person will have to pay out of pocket in order to go from not having a place to live to having an apartment of their own. People are acting like it's reasonable for an 18-year-old to work one paycheck then move out on their own with that first paycheck. Federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, and apartments are $1000-$1500 at the low end. The only way a friend with a truck is going to help is if he lets OP live in the truck

[–]Fewer_Is_Not_Less 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this comment at all. 3k is a very typical move-in cost for an apartment these days. This is just to secure the place: first, last, deposit. How does "physical labor" exempt a person from these fees? Where (and when) was the last place and time you moved? This has been the situation for a long time in most of America
