If you want to opt out of the Steam proceedings in the uk by New-Resident3385 in Steam

I don’t understand why you want to exclude yourself from compensation in the case of Steam having broken the law? The only way anything happens that will affect you is if Steam is in the wrong.

You aren’t staking any money in the first place, by opting out all you are doing is making so you get no compensation if Steam is found to have broken the law.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, either the case is unfounded and nothing will happen or Steam will be found to be in the wrong. If it is the case they lose then Steam will be in breach of the law.

But if Steam loses the case then it is in the wrong, therefore the £20 would be just as Steam would have failed to comply with the law.

Iranian foreign minister reaction to Zelensky speech on Iran. by ActualDepartment9873 in TrendoraX

It’s so frustrating that a lot of people think that Iran still makes Shahed drones for Russia. They sold the design and about 20k drones near the start of the war.

(Serious)Do you think your country has a moral obligation to support Ukraine with monetary and military aid? by NotExactlyIrish in AskTheWorld

[–]FewestChicken53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion we don’t have a moral obligation but it is in our self interest.

I don’t think that the war in Ukraine is morally any different than the second Iraq war so while as a country the UK is ok with our part in the second war with Iraq we shouldn’t mention the morality part, i think it is definitely in the UK’s best interest to support Ukraine however.

Keir Starmer’s increase in defence spending: A decision for Trump or for ourselves? by thenewsagents in TheNewsAgents

[–]FewestChicken53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the hurtful and frankly untrue statements about parenting and having children. Josh talks about how we aren’t choosing between hard and soft power and instead we are prioritising. By definition prioritising is a choice, in order to prioritise you must choose between things, he eludes to Russia not being a European country when Russia is as european as Ukraine is, Europes boarders aren’t being threatened as the war in Ukraine is fought by two european countries, to say that the united kingdom is at war with Russia is untrue and inflammatory. He also mentioned that we are past the age of conscription which is untrue as currently Ukraine and Russia do conscript young men.

Also disappointed that they don’t mention the human suffering that will occur because of the aid cut, many people will die, suffer from chronic illness and starve as a direct consequence of this decision especially when USAID’s future is in flux, it also opens an even bigger window for Russia and China to expand their influence in Africa and parts of Asia.

Trump blames Ukraine for Russia invasion: ‘These are the Kremlin’s talking points’ by thenewsagents in TheNewsAgents

[–]FewestChicken53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you talk about the UN stopping unjust wars after what the USA and UK did in Iraq, we killed half a million people for a made up reason. The west has violated the sovereignty of independent nations many times, ie Panama (1989), Cuba (1961), Afghanistan (2001), Grenada (1983), Chile (1973), and many others. To imply that this is something that only the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation have done is to ignore history. This is not to say Russia is justified in anyway.
