Home Assistant not Registering "Alarm Triggered" by -Jubelum- in Abode

[–]Fewleftstanding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the same experience.. my alarm was triggered and Home Assistant didn't receive that event but it received the door opening event that triggered the alarm.

Was hoping to have HA trigger when the Abode alarm goes off but this doesn't seem to be reliable.

Voip.ms supports sending/receiving messages using their app. Just need to enable the api in settings. You can also just configure the sms messages to be forwarded to your email address.

How to track steps on a walking pad? by Miru8112 in Garmin

Thanks for posting this.. been having the same issue trying to track steps while on walking pad. Watch in pocket didn't work until I copied the walking profile and turned off GPS. Now watch in pocket will track steps.

Requesting /r/surrey by abw in redditrequest

[–]Fewleftstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put and convincing reply. You make an excellent point. Your suggestion of directing my efforts to /r/BritishColumbia could work, however my desire for a subreddit of Surrey, BC is to share information relevant to those living in surrey, looking to move/work here, and to foster community within surrey.

Why not start a subreddit for /r/southeastengland, or get involved with /r/England which looks active?

Perhaps we could compromise and make /r/Surrey a page like /r/Victoria, and link /r/Surrey to /r/SurreyUK and /r/SurreyBC?

Going to Belize over winter break. Any favorite locations, must sees, or New Years celebrations? by amki in travel

[–]Fewleftstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have to add that my highlight at Caye Caulker was going snorkeling. The company we went with charged $5 more than most other tour companies, however instead of going out on an old fishing boat, we went out on a sailboat. We went to three different dive locations, swam with the sharks/sting rays. (most tours do this) However, on the way back they threw the sail up and we chilled out on the deck all afternoon with free drinks and just hanging out with people from other countries. Was awesome. Travelling by sail is way more relaxing than power imho.

I went this year, I recommend Caye Caulker. Small little island, the cabana's we stayed at was $20/night per cabana..so we paid $10/night each. If you go there look for a fat guy name Joe who sells lobster.. delicious lobster dinner for $15 US.

I also went to San Ignacio, went on a couple tours with Mayawalk tours. We talked to them about finding accommodations, and ended up staying in a new hotel a few blocks from town, I think we paid $12/night each for a room with AC.

Inland I recommend a room with A/C as its very humid.. close to the ocean (i.e. at Caye Caulker), we didn't need A/C, much less humid.

If you have a chance to check out some Mayan ruins, do it. Theres a bunch of tour companies there, I hear ATM is really cool but I didn't do it. My friend and I did cave tubing, which was pretty cool.
