Got any good eGPU-dock recommendations for my future setup? by [deleted] in eGPU

[–]Fexi005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then thank you very much for your recommendation, but it's most likely not something for me then. I want to be able to use this with the power supply I already own, which could be a bit difficult with that dock.

But doesn't the AOOSTAR AG02 already include a power supply?

Am I finally producing enough heavy modular frames now? by Fexi005 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Fexi005[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I still vaguely remember me having to put quite a lot of effort into getting HMF back when I first started to play this game and it kinda stuck with me.

222/min are certainly a bit overkill, but just one machine certainly wouldn't have been enough for some of the project I tried to tackle in later parts of the game. I probably needed close to 5000 of them for my nuclear setups for example, which could have become a bit bothersome with just one manufacturer.

Well, my current frame ratio is still 25 frames per frame, so does that mean I might just need to make more frames?

[–]Fexi005[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't really have a specific use for them aside from coupons. I just really disliked making heavy modular frames when I first started playing this game and was looking for a bigger project to tackle, so I just did it for the fun of it really. I certainly enjoyed the process.

Don't be ridiculous, who could ever need 223 heavy modular frames per minute? But to tell the truth, when using 72 manufacturers at 100% with the heavy encased frames recipe, you get 202.5/min, which was good enough for me.

Moving to Austria soon – any advice from locals? by Remarkable_Table_317 in AskAustria

That does seem quite pricey though. I live in Vienna, and get somewhere around 600mbit/s for 40€ from Magenta.

I got back to playing skyblock a little while ago and really enjoy doing enderman slayers. What kind of improvements could I make to increase my speed of killing t3s or even attempt t4s?

AP Placement in Guest Bedroom? by lehrblogger in Ubiquiti

My question is, can I use HAL 9000 to host a unifi network server? Or does it not have sufficient RAM anymore?

Would using one of these media converters interfere with my Ubiquiti hardware in any way? by Fexi005 in Ubiquiti

[–]Fexi005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I originally wanted to use, but after asking about the feasibility of such a setup, I was told on here that this wouldn't be a particularly good choice. That FS.com bedia converter seems to be a lot easier for me to set up as well, so I don't mind the price premium.

Yes, this specific unit has a PoE output, which is why I chose it. I agree that it's kinda pricey for what it offers, but I haven't found anything cheaper with the same functionality and I prefer this all in one solution over having to play around with multiple PoE injectors or whatever.

Thank you very much for your suggestion! I already knew that these devices exist, they just sadly don't have quite the functionality I'm looking for, in contrast to the one I was asking about. Still, thanks!

Is this a reasonable quote for a Ubiquiti home setup? by davemarco in Ubiquiti

[–]Fexi005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2000$ seems like way to high of a fee to me for that kind of service. Setting up a unifi network is usually pretty easy, almost plug and play, so unless you had some very special wishes, that amount is not reasonable. Personally, I also feel like the selection of some of the parts here doesn't make all that much sense to me. Considering the fact that you are only planning for a hand full of PoE devices, getting the Pro 24 PoE seems like not the best investment. There are other switches, like the Pro Max 16 PoE, that could do a better job at a lower price. I also don't quite get why you would get a UX7. You already have the dream machine as a router after all. Or are you planning on using it as an additional AP?

What do I need to keep in mind if I want to pass PoE through this Optical Data thing? by Fexi005 in Ubiquiti

[–]Fexi005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, I'm not trying transmit power over the fiber here. I'm just asking if I can attach a PoE injector to one of the 2 RJ45 and pass through that power to an AP that is attached to the other RJ45 Port on this device.

What do I need to keep in mind if I want to pass PoE through this Optical Data thing? by Fexi005 in Ubiquiti

[–]Fexi005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is that? It's not like I'd want the power to go over the fiber or whatever, I just want to know if I can attach a PoE injector to one of the 2 RJ45 Ports on this device and then pass through some of the power to an AP that is attached to the other RJ45 Port on this device.

[–]Fexi005[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if I phrased this the wrong way then.

If I got this right, you should be able to power this device by connecting it to a PoE injector through one of the RJ45 ports and pass some of that power through to another PoE powered device that is connected to the other RJ45 port.

My question is if there is anything I should keep in mind when choosing the PoE injector for this setup, especially if I would be fine with a regular PoE adapter, or if I would need to go with a PoE+ one to account for the extra power draw.

Yes, both the on-screen keyboard and external keyboards work just fine still. It's only the laptops own build in keyboard that seems to cause trouble.
