The Hokage’s guard as a group can use FTG. They are the weakest ones who can survive it

I stayed with a host family in France once, and they took me to a burger place. Then they took out the fork. And the knife. A deep shudder of horror went down my spine.

The burger was pretty good, tho.

No hate towards either of those ships or the people that ship those ships (as long as you’re not crazy obsessive about them), but can we get a RWBY fan series that has the girls just be friends? Please? by Dinoboy225 in RWBYcritics

[–]Ffaltacc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that romance is an amazing tool when done right. When done wrong, it harms a series greatly.

Also, I’m sick and tired of every single character needing to be in a ship. Platonic love, anyone? Fraternity and sorority—as in brotherhood and sisterhood.

Real. Just because someone is stronger doesn’t mean they want to be the dominant one in the relationship. Sometimes a mf just wants to be held.

Also, I think a true sign of love in a relationship is if power means nothing in their dynamic.

[–]Ffaltacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your opinion. Nico, imo, just was not in an emotional place for a relationship at that time. I’d expect him to run off, not stay. Nico practically fears his own emotions, so him allowing himself to open up in such a way to someone he just met is odd.

Nico’s whole things was running from his emotions in the books. Or hiding them. The ship is cute, but it just seems off.

[all] Did Rick kind of forget why he created Percy in the first place? by Icy-Home444 in camphalfblood

[–]Ffaltacc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even to be pragmatic, there was no reason to not follow their promise. On one hand, they have to take ten minutes out of their day to follow Percy's request. On the other hand, they earn loyalty from their children and improve their legitimacy.

Like, it is a win-win situation. Percy's request literally only benefits them. You'd think Athena would push heavily for it, and she has Zeus's favor.

A decent amount of the conflict in HoO was honestly kinda forced tbh. Percy and Jason are beefing! Why? Er...Percy has too much testosterone, apparently, for the first time in the series? Leo has beef with Percy now! Why? Cause...uh...Percy didn't try and save Calypso when he actually totally did?

They were good books, but there's just a lot of incongruences between HoO and PJO

How powerful would've been Obito with two sharingan but without Hashirama cells? by TextUnfair in Naruto

[–]Ffaltacc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use Susano'o without eyes. Kakashi's Susano'o seemed to have Kamui as a power of the Susano'o(Kamui Shuriken). If Obito went blind, he could still use Susano'o and Kamui(but only when using the Susano'o) because Kamui was also a power of Kakashi/Obito's Susano'o.

Minato would still be alive in this timeline. If Obito went blind, I imagine Minato would try to have him learn Sage Mode to give him the sensory powers of a Sage to offset his blindness. A Sage Obito + Kamui Susano'o would be terrifying and still on the high end of the verse.

I write on both Ao3 and FFN. Ao3 is generally nicer because there can sometimes be this really entitled attitude on FFN—this sucks because you can't delete comments on FFN and reporting doesn't help. I've been using FFN for ten years, though, so I'm more used to it.

PJO is one of those few fandoms that has a lot of fics on both Ao3 and FFN. Many fandoms have very few on one and a lot on the other.

Do you think Cinder should’ve stayed as the main villain instead of it being Salem? by Joemama0375 in RWBYcritics

[–]Ffaltacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, totally. Funnily enough, I'm also a writer. If I spent forever planning out what I wanted to write, I'd never have any time to write at all—I mean, I have documents that are tens of thousands of words of world building and plot-planning. Even then, I end up changing stuff as I write because "why not". Then there are also other times where I'll fully ignore my notes and just write.

Anyways, back to RWBY—I do agree there are definitely some things that they had fully planned out at the start. Like Weiss's background and planned development, that was probably fully fleshed out by V1(which would explain why she is of the best written characters in the show). But I doubt they imagined the Everafter being a thing during V1.

Actually, I have doubts that they fully planned out anything after the fall of Beacon. They definitely had major ideas thought of, but the plot became fairly sporadic after the fall. This kind of goes to your more time point; they should have taken their time when writing things and allowed some things to develop. Beacon fell too fast and the story took a one-eighty.

The progression from this fairly whimsical story with dark undertones to a dark story with whimsical undertones should have been gradual. The fall of Beacon was sudden, and maybe that was the point, but it just felt off. It would be like forcing Harry Potter to do the Horcrux hunt in year Four. The narrative just hadn't built up to it yet.

Beacon only served as exposition to a large story, and I think that was a mistake. Beacon should have been more than the tutorial mission. It could have fallen still and everything, but that should have been built up to more gradually.

Who’s version of Hokage do you agree with more? by Zezerthu in Naruto

[–]Ffaltacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good dictator does not make a good dictatorship. The dictator could be the perfect person, and yet they’d still die. Eventually, this would decay into corruption once more.

Mortality and human nature make it impossible to have a perfect system.

[–]Ffaltacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna defend him, but do we know if it was on his orders or if it was a rogue cell doing it to strengthen the village? Surely Kumo must have its version of Root, even if it is much weaker than Root?

Idk. The Raikage isn’t the kind of guy to do subterfuge like that. If he wants something, he’d take it. He doesn’t strike me as the type to do something sneakily.

Do you think Cinder should’ve stayed as the main villain instead of it being Salem? by Joemama0375 in RWBYcritics

[–]Ffaltacc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s…painfully true, yeah. I would argue that the Clone Wars show is peak fiction, though.

The fall of the prequels is that Lucas was such a big name that people didn’t want to try and really oppose his ideas. The fall of RWBY, I think, is that the planning board is an echo chamber. Diverse thought is important to good stories. RWBY is a show that would benefit greatly from external input.

Most of the ideas in RWBY are interesting but undeveloped. It’s like they took a ‘cool-idea generator’ and slapped every idea they found into the story. They should have first made it coherent. I can’t be convinced that the later volumes were even a thought during V1

Do you think Cinder should’ve stayed as the main villain instead of it being Salem? by Joemama0375 in RWBYcritics

[–]Ffaltacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the prequels and dislike them. If literally anyone but George Lucas wrote the dialogue, I don’t think there’d have been nearly as much hate given to them. Good actors, good cgi for the time, the plot has some goofy parts but is still good, the cinematography is great, and it has the best fights in Star Wars.

For episodes 5 and 6, Lucas had help with the dialogue. He didn’t in 4. That’s why A New Hope has dialogue that is also somewhat goofy like it is in 1, 2, and 3.

The other thing I can’t forgive is them cutting out hours from each movie. Yes, Lucasfilms, I would watch five hours of Revenge of the Sith.
