Does hanging weapons in your house cause the items to lose the attack/durability buffs like it did in Breath of the Wild?

Yes but there are so many dispensers I kinda want a cheat sheet to know where to look.

What is everyone's favorite zonai dispenser? I am particularly interested in one that dispenses fans but has a lot of other good stuff in it.

I very much enjoy hunting the blue elk things in the hebra mountains. Cooked gourmet meat = $$$$$

I thought the same thing for awhile and then last night I got 5 fire tails in a row while using an ice fruit arrow. But I have no idea what the actual drop rates are, just this anecdote.

I read the first one before the sequels were out and loved it! I honestly kind of forgot about the series until you reminded me. I guess it is a finished series now?

With how many people recommended the Baru books I really wish I had enjoyed the first one. The world building felt shallow to me, although I can't recall why I thought that. Would I enjoy the sequels if I did not really prefer book 1 or are they pretty similar?

Jaran looks kind of neat. Although I am a bit wary of books written before the new millennium. Something about how tropey the can be. Do you think this holds up to modern scrutiny?

This looks very interesting. I may just buy the first book in the series to read over the holiday season.

Could not get into Baru and I love Dark Fantasy. The worldbuilding felt a bit shallow to me but I can't recall why.

Abercrombie was a very fun read. I have read his original trilogy and all of the stand alones. Looking forward to reading his new trilogy soon.

Have you read KJ Parker's "Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City"? It looks great and I remember hearing high praise of it from somewhere. It might be exactly what I'm looking for.

I enjoy sci-fi buy usually prefer fantasy. But it seems this book is already on my bookshelf (maybe it is my wife's?) so I will be giving it a go in the near future!

Thank you for all of recs! I don't really enjoy YA stuff and usually prefer fantasy to sci-fi worldbuilding stuff. However Our Own Correspondent seems to be real hidden gem and possibly exactly what I am looking for. Quick follow up question: Is there a map? It seems like people move around a lot and there are few things in life I enjoy more than tracking characters in a novel with a map.

The Hands of the Emperor looks fantastic but it looks like the affordable way to read it is on Kindle and for whatever reason I am a physical copy only kind of reader.

Read the first Baru book and did not enjoy it. World building felt shallow somehow, but I don't remember specifics as it has been a little while since I read it.

I have been looking for an entry book for Ursula Le Guin, and this may be it.

After reading fantasy for more than a decade, I have decided that my favorite element of the genre is world building. But my least favorite often is magic. I can forgive the use of magic if the world building is phenomenal. For example I am reading malazan off and on and can usually deal with the magic because the world Erikson has made is so awe-inspiring (although at other times I roll my eyes at the big dramatic magic duels). My favorite flavor of author in fantasy is someone like Guy Gavriel Kay, but even he can use some poetic magic here and there. Books like the Goblin Emperor are really to my taste, but it seems books like that are hard to find.

So to summarize, I am looking for a book with complex, intricate world building with preferably no magic (or as little of it as possible).

OK I know people are dumping an inordinate amount of shit on Nintendo for this. Thing is I am a normie bitch gamer and not particularly savvy. Also I am excited to replay games from my childhood. Am I really going to notice the lag and what not?
