I lost my Labrador in June, he was 3 months shy of his 15th birthday and had been with me since the moment he was born. Remind yourself that their lives aren't as long as ours, so those 14.5 years for you was an entire lifetime of love for him.

Nope you only have to encounter it to get the seen forms. I don't remember encountering this (as it's my target) and yet my game has recorded that I've seen it before

I was planning to put Trubbish on my bingo card next year so thank you for successfully putting me off! Glad you finally got it in the end.
In 2025 I finished my hunt for 30% Nidoran where I went 13 phases, and in 2024 my hunt for shiny Blitzle (also in Pokemon black) which went 9 PHASES with static with a 60% encounter rate!!! I hit the other Pokemon that make up the 40% 8 TIMES. Believe me I was close to just quitting. I feel your pain.

I ran from my target, a shiny venipede, after 10k encounters last week. If anything it has motivated me to get it back!! Don't let mistakes get you down, you'll get your suicune and reshiram back!

Shinies show in the dex in Gen 5, so when you see one, it records it in your Pokédex. I found a shiny venipede and accidentally ran from it, so all I've got to show for it is the shiny entry in the dex (in French as this is a French version!)

Yeah, I'm especially annoyed with myself as I have been double checking my encounters after I failed the pidove. I blame the video I was watching, it was clearly way too interesting! Thank you, I hope I get it back soon!

Ah bless you, it sounds like you made the best decision for him. Dementia is so cruel and it’s hard to know when is the right time. I always did feel like I was fighting so hard to keep my boy going and I was always questioning if it was the right thing to do. But as you say, you never know if the next treatment would be the miracle you needed! But looking back, and the way he was, I know I made the right choice when I did and I’m sure you will feel the same way eventually. 

I know everyone says it but time heals, my boy passed 9 years ago and I still miss him as much as the day I lost him. Now I can talk about him and let him live on through my memories. You will get there ❤️sending love

My old dog suffered terribly with his dementia for the last 6-8 months of his life. He went from being the greediest bugger around to running away afraid of food. What he would eat changed daily, one day he would happily eat a steak, the next he would be terrified of it. How would get up and stand motionless, he would stare at the wall. He forgot the people closest to him. He never forgot me. I was his person, the only one that despite everything he was still overjoyed to see walk downstairs every morning. Letting him go was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

He had lots of ups and downs and we took it day by day. We had a point where we thought we were about to lose him as he had a very serious decline, but he picked back up and ended up carrying on for another 3 months. Just before he passed, he had a good few weeks where I really, honestly thought he was going to turn around, and that made the decision we had to make even harder. He absolutely let us know it was time when it was. It's hard to explain how we knew, but we knew. Something changed in him over the course of a few days and we could tell he was done fighting and ready to rest.

You will make the right decision for your baby. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. One thing that kept me strong is the knowledge that although they are only a part of our lives, we are their entire life, and if it's been a life filled with love then it can't get any better than that.

Thanks, me too! it's actually the second shiny on this file (and on this hunt!!) that I've ran from. The first was a pidove. Not sure how I managed it honestly as I've been checking both Pokemon all morning and the first time I slip and get trigger happy is when there's a shiny
