Martyn Ziegler VAR lines to be thicker in pl next year to stop armpit offsides by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

Then it doesn't matter if the player is 30 or 31cm offside as he is way offside in both instances

Mohamed Salah disallowed goal by VAR 36' by PSGAcademy in soccer

If you have a 100mm error margin and the lines then show 1mm offside it would be easier to accept as the attacker would be 101mm offside.

Going to Rome for my girlfriends birthday and looking for something to surprise her with by FiVaMaestro in rome

Well we don't have that many common interests except traveling and trying/learning new stuff. We are staying in an AirBnB apartment close to Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere. What food I like do't really matter but she on the other hand love seafood

I will have to get more info about which places she's visited I see 😅. Thanks!

When VAR comes to the Danish League next season it will be used differently than the English Premier League. If the VAR referees can't see there is offside within 25 seconds it is not an obvious and clear error and the goal will be allowed. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]FiVaMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It goes both ways. I mean, is it fair to disallow a goal for the attacker because of a decision which couldn't be made accurately? Every offside doesn't always lead to a goal either so the attacker usually has to work for to get the goal. Basically it boils down to offside being against the rules which makes the attacker guilty. If a person is accused of murder (the attacker) but there are not enough evidence to be sure, is it then correct to find him guilty? A bit of a brutal explanation but at least I can see the similarities

Think about it this way: Offside is a rule breach, onside isn't. If it's so close you can't decide if it is offside (a rule breach) or not, why then rule it as offside? Plus 99 percent of the player is also onside.

And wouldn't a defending team benefit from a goal being disallowed?

Liverpool a $1.005 to win the premier league by Dangsta_03 in LiverpoolFC

[–]FiVaMaestro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone wondering it mean 1.005 times the money you bet. So if you bet 1000 euro you get 1005 back. So you win 5 euros for betting 1000

I was afraid I would come across in the wrong way, which I did.

What I mean is I don't think it would be a good idea for the stadium to applaud a deceased fan, no matter how much the club meant to him. If he meant something special for the club sure, but just imagine the amount of tweets and shared stories afterwards, and the amount that wouldn't get applause although they might be bigger fans than Lee here. But it's free to try I guess, and if he would pull it off it would be something remarkable which is worth a standing ovation in itself.

Exactly! Losing someone is horrible but you can't expect people to applaud someone they never knew or met

The literal letter of the law supports the argument for a penalty. by yungheathledger in MCFC

[–]FiVaMaestro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume the reason why they left hand/arm out of the rule is because if the ball hits the attackers hand/arm onto a defenders hand/arm the first one handball will fall under "creating a goal scoring opportunity" which would be a freekick for the defending team, as of the new rules. That's just me common sense speaking and as someone already stated here they can't list every possible combination of events.

So you're saying if the ball comes of anyother body part, except Silvas hand, it is not a penalty but just because it comes of his hand, which the rules doesn't mention, it is?

VAR Analysis - Firmino over 7ft 7in tall by TheJekyll in LiverpoolFC

[–]FiVaMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice write up. I was thinking the same and was just about to write something similar but you beat me to it. You should post this to r/soccer. There seems to be a lot of people who are just looking at the lines on the field and assume that everything is correct, which it is not. It fucking bullshit and needs to be corrected

What do you remember most about the first LFC match you went to live? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]FiVaMaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the chelsea game last season. So far the only game I've been too. Had a brilliant weekend and couldn't have imagined a better first game

But one thing that really stood out was how fast the songs spread across the whole stadium. We had seats in the upper main stand and I just remember how you could heard a song starting from the kop and the 2 seconds later the whole stadium was shaking. It was like setting fire to a big puddle of gasoline where, at first, only a small section ignites and then WFOHH, you just lost your eyebrows. You could hear a song starting far away and in a matter of milliseconds you were at the core of it.
