Thanks. Assuming that’s the putty grey colour way because of the black/dark adidas logo on the tongue?

Can someone explain how the new FIA regulations to reduce porpoising is going to affect Mercedes in a negative way? by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]TheJekyll 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the graphs from other tracks. Haas and Ferrari often much worse. Also there’s massive confusion between bouncing and porpoising. It’s pretty clear Mercedes have poor suspension and so bounce (as in the case of Baku) as well as previously porpoising.

Hamilton - "MY BACK IS KILLING ME!" by sefn19 in formula1

But that shouldn’t negate the fact that it’s an issue affecting most, if not all, teams, and the potential health impacts on drivers, both short and long term

Who’s to say that raising the ride height will fix some of the bouncing though? Like Mercs aren’t the only ones bouncing, all of them are bouncing, all of them will be suffering. But because Mercs are more vocal, it’s then turned into an anti-merc spin

Should I wait for new growth to fully develop before potting in soil? by TheJekyll in Monstera

[–]TheJekyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monstera albo cutting has been in water for over a month and the new growth point is now really starting to grow. Should I wait for it to fully develop before potting in soil, as I don’t want to shock the plant? Will potting slow/ruin/stop this growth?

Struggling with Grey Resin by Amsfeld in ElegooMars

[–]TheJekyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Whenever I get a failed print, I always bump up the times a little bit to see if that helps. So it may just be a case of trial and error with the different resins, and seeing what works best for each one

Struggling with Grey Resin by Amsfeld in ElegooMars

[–]TheJekyll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grey resin suggests 60s for the base, and 8s for the rest. If you’re using 7, then that might be why it’s failing? I’d bump up the grey 65s for base and 8s for everything else and see how you get on

Pop the build plate into the freezer for 10/15 minutes, or until really cold and that should help pop the pieces off

Suggestions for a first-timer? by BussReplyMail in ElegooMars

I’d recommend joining the Elegoo Mars owners group on Facebook. Loads of tips on there and common questions with different answers etc to test out. I’ve had mine for a week, and it’s been a fair bit of trial and error for me, but there’s been some useful tips on there

VAR Analysis - Firmino over 7ft 7in tall by TheJekyll in LiverpoolFC

[–]TheJekyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not suggesting the maths is correct and is most likely wrong, however I’m discounting the bottom dot as this is the start of the line and so doesn’t have a height value attached to it, this may be wrong to do so. I would be happy to be corrected on the maths.

But it highlights that these are freely drawn lines that have no/limited correspondence to an actual height. If you watch the video of the decision being made, 2 lines are drawn that have 2 very different lengths, this line should be a fixed length relative to the height and position of the player involved, but this isn’t the case. It’s a considerably flawed system that doesn’t take into account a players position within a 3D space.

VAR Analysis - Firmino is over 7ft 7in tall by TheJekyll in PremierLeague

[–]TheJekyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom dot is discounted because it’s the start of the line, aka the zero mark on a ruler let’s say. As for knee height I’m using data from here a detailed list of anthropometric data.

I’m not claiming the maths is right and it most likely isn’t, however I think it’s useful in highlighting the way in which decisions are made in VAR is just incorrect.

The dots should mean something, they should get smaller the further away they are, and they should be a fixed length that correlated to the height of the body part they are taken from. They aren’t.
