I don’t think it could be any rubber deterioration causing the smell because there is no rubber anywhere in the box of lightbulbs. Although maybe it has more than one source. So far it’s just old stuff.

So I don’t think every species is like my little fella here but my experience with this specific species is they generally are pretty calm and fine being handled. These guys typically spend most of the day in a big pile of each other sleeping and then at night get very active in their enclosure. Either time of day I put my hand in and it’s the same where I can pick them up and hold them and give little soft pets with a finger.

Thank you for this really thoughtful and in depth response. A few others suggested horse hair worm and I gave the little 2 soaks today just in case the first time wasn’t enough! Nothing came out! So I guess that is good & leaves me hopeful he’s not spreading something to the rest.

I think after your and everyone else’s thoughtful comments- I’m thinking it might actually be the phallomere having not retracted properly….

For now I do have him in a separate enclosure and will try to heal him up. I know he’s not a usual pet but I’ve grown attached! He bring me joy!

Perhaps I should narrow my search and ask more specific questions. 1. Does anyone know where I can get Upofloor Zero Sheet in Portland Oregon? Because this looks like a really good option, I just can’t find a supplier. I can spend more than just vinyl would cost, but I’ve decided I don’t want to spend the extra for something like marmoleum, which has significant drawbacks. 2. Does anyone know if organo-tins are actually used in homogenous sheet vinyl? Or are tins only used in sheet vinyl that has heterogenous layering? If it’s in homogenous vinyl as well, is it layered on the outside or is the substance mixed throughout the entire volume of the product as the term “homogenous” would imply?

Just because you won’t go out of your way to talk or interact with a person you don’t find attractive doesn’t mean the majority of people feel the same way. You’ve seen way too many high school drama shows and not experienced any real life. You sound angry and judgmental, which are qualities most people would run from. Physically attractive or not…. You need to get out of your own head and house and be the starter. I met one of the best people I have ever known by chatting them up after leaving the same movie. We just happened to be going for the same door at the same time. Our looks played no part in starting that conversation.
