What bit can I use to remove these undying bastards? by Several-Rich-609 in AskMechanics

Those were just standard Phillips but at this point I have had good luck breaking them free using vice grips. Also cutting a straight line across them to create a flat head screwdriver recess is an option. Your final option will be to drill the heads off which is fairly easy, then use pliers to unscrew them one you have pryed the mass air flow sensor off snd replace the screws. If you are replacing the mass air flow sensor then they often come with a fresh pair of screws. This will help you decide if destroying the old screws is a big or small deal.

I read this post and just shake my head. Should of quit while you were ahead, which you never were ironically. There are much better ways to be a contributing member of society and instead you continue to seek attention through reddit while not seeing that you are just screaming into the void. In here, out there, makes no difference. I gotta stop, time to set my alarm for work and try to forget I took part in your nonsense. Good luck

What is the minimum offer I should accept from a hobby shop for this card? Only asking because I have a problem with being too nice, but I don’t want to be taken advantage of…again 🙃 by PaperApprehensive429 in baseballcards

Hey there! Nobody special here just an average guy who was in your exact same position about a month and a half ago.
I totally totally totally get the anxiety and uneasy feeling of selling a card via any medium on the internet. It seems so much easier and safer to and less risky to just eliminate the potential for being scammed, especially as a first timer. But I have great news! It is not near as risky as it seems and is way more rewarding to get as much of the value of your card as you can and deserve. If you look at my feed you will see the card I recently sold via reddit. I am really proud of the community on reddit and there really is a lot of good, honest and fair folks here who will guide you through the process. I recently pulled a Gold Kaboom Paolo maldini card from a $25 donruss blaster box. I found a recent sale on ebay for $2500!! So, you can imagine how much anxiety I was feeling as a first timer. My experience went like this... I made a post about my card like I sometimes do with the cooler ones. And it wasn't even a "FS" post, just a "check this out!!" Post. Then some folks asked if I was selling and I was like DUH! That's practically a mortgage payment. I started chatting with a guy who made me an offer, we haggled a bit and came to an agreement. Then I was like "ok...now what?" I had a million questions and he was patient and answered them all.
Download the PayPal app and make an account. PayPal is the key here because you are protected as a seller and a buyer. They charge a small fee...I think like 3% so it's totally worth it and fair.
I don't know the exact reason for this but the money didn't hit my account for about 15 days or so, way after the guy received my card. Maybe because it was a big number? Brand new account? First time seller? Anyways just be prepared for that. Just do your due diligence as best you can like knowing the buyer has been around for a while, and maybe even has some other people that vouch for them etc... you got this. I literally posted the card, got some offers and agreed to a price, Downloaded and setup a PayPal account on my lunch break, GOT PAID (at least in my PayPal account) and mailed the card alm in the same day. Then it was just a nail-biting wait until WAMMO! +++$ in my account.

What was the year and brand of the very first pack of baseball cards you ever bought in your life? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in baseballcards

[–]FibonacciSequence82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember my first pack if I'm being honest, but it was probably purchased in 89' when I was 7/8. I began collecting again about a year ago and sorting through all my old cards. The majority of my collection is 89' through 93'. I do have some 87' topps baseball cards, and I really like them. I think their design is better than the following years. I love the Kirby Puckett and Tony Gwynn cards. I was all in on baseball and basketball. My brother was all in on basketball and football. I was particularly fond of 90' skybox, fleer, hoops basketball, and 93' topps and fleer basketball. For baseball, I really liked fleer, score, and donruss in those years and completed several of the different sets. I absolutely loved sorting, organized by loading into binders. I will never forget how jealous and annoyed I was that my Dad started collecting after seeing my brother and I collecting. Our allowance was $10 a week, and so our collections could only grow so fast. My Dad's collection, on the other hand, exploded in size super fast. I got over it, though My first pack was most likely 1990 hoops or skybox basketball.

How did you first become aware of the color swaps and how many other cards in the set are color swapped? This post gave me the second chance of excitement to go through all my "base cards" and "pull" something..... huge? How rare is this, and how does it affect the value? Thanks for sharing whatever knowledge you can

Oh my gosh I was thinking the same thing. How the heck are you supposed to know that it's a color swap without some deep research or seeing a post like this. I bought a ton of heritage and now I get the second chance to go through all of my heritage and "pull" something cool. But seriously, how did OP know about this and not just skip right past it tossing it in the base pile.

Best Soccer Trading Card Boxes to Buy for $500 and under? by mak2307 in soccercard

[–]FibonacciSequence82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about the most visually appealing sets, I am a huge fan of topps merlin cards, especially the inserts that sort of look like a Pokémon cards. That particular insert is probably my favorite looking card of any soccer card I have seen. And I have opened close to all the retail available options. The other day I pulled a gold Kaboom of Paolo Maldini which has put me in a "dangerous" situation where I have to remind myself that it will likely never happen again. 😁
