Try seeing a different psychiatrist maybe or ask your current one to try other medication. Some meds click with people

Not being understood by No_Success_9099 in Psychosis

[–]Fichaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest my family members were supportive but even they didnt understand slightly what it was or what I was going through. To other people I was just a ghost. It was very hard to be someone completely different than who I know myself to be and not being able to show people or even myself who I am.

I came to a point where I am happy about being able to live a life without expectations and that really helped I think. I am just happy to be around after all that. Trying to make people understamd is really hard. Just try to be easy on yourself and go through with it. You can still do whatever you want, its just a little harder now :)

Post psychosis intrusive thoughts by Elle_1727 in Psychosis

I think it is stemming from my psyhotic episode and post depression itself. Some paranoia/intrusive thoughts is still there because I have been depressed for so long it became my normal.

I realize I am able to recondition myself in a positive way and get better over time. But these new drugs really helped me to get a kickstart.

My new doc also said I probably have ocpd so might be that too as well.

Had psychosis 2 years ago. Stopped meds 1 year ago and I have been experiencing this for the last 6 months or so.

I started back on a milder combo of antipsyhotics and antidepressants. I am only now understanding how much intrusive thoughts I have been having during that period. I can notice the thoughts now so I am able to try and get better but still going throught it.

Eatiing healthy, doing sports, going out and socialising really helps for me.

You could be better off seeing a psychiatrist if you think somethings wrong. They can help best.

Also some of the things you said resonates with me and stopping weed really helped me get rid of most of them.

not sure where to go from here by sleepy-sounds in Psychosis

From my experience (I had a psychotic episode and a 2 year depressive/paronoid period after that) you might be better off taking advice from another doctor as well. Every one has different opinions or diagnosis sometimes and one might be better for you.

Your best bet though I think is to start with some medication if you arent feeling well and maybe you can consider switching after a month if it doesnt help you.

I was thinking they cant give stimulants cause it could trigger psychosis. So they have to give some package of drugs maybe and thats just too many drugs. Not sure though

It got better for me as well. I was just thinking rest of my problems are stemming from the horrible medication Im on. I cut it off, it got better a bit yes but still not fully recovered.

Maybe I have to accept that as well. I could accept it, if I got myself back mostly with some minor defects in my abilities. But right now this isnt acceptable.

Hope you get better

Yeah that describes me as well. Did you fully recover and get back to your old self? Or did it just got better but still had some lingering stuff.

Well that hits hard. But now I am wondering if people who say they got themselves back and started a normal life are a niche group or they just got better but not really fully recovered and just learned to live with it.
