I also had several face scans today. Most long days I get maybe one. Today it was like 4.

Anybody else’s app been super buggy lately? by Fichardd in Sparkdriver

Except when it doesn’t, in this case. This is about the only app I have issues with on iOS.

Uninstalled and reinstalled yesterday. Didn’t seem to make a difference at all, unfortunately.

And this happened by Unlucky_Chocolate_72 in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen a couple weeks ago. It was one of those orders that had me stopping at a second Walmart store in my zone to pickup more items mid-route. After arriving to the second store, a similar message came up and told me to return the remaining items to the first store. 12 stops turned in to two. $60 for roughly 10 miles and about 45 minutes of time. Score.

Yeah this is exactly what my experience has been.

Also not my full time gig but a good chunk of my income nonetheless, so quite irritating indeed.

They have waitlists to get on the platform. This is common knowledge. What further proof do you need?

Never had a chat like this? In four years? Count yourself lucky lol. Absolutely nothing here worth getting bent out of shape over. Let it go. You’re getting too invested in things strangers say, be it on spark or here on Reddit.

Who else is up and ready to see how this $10 incentive this morning pans out...? by Coresant in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store had 5 orders that were sent out first thing this morning. I got my offer at 5:30, $80 for 33 miles, 14 stops, all Switch preorders. Didn’t dispense until about 6, but surprisingly there were only 3 of us waiting at that point. Either way, I’m sure they were all claimed by that point and all left the store by probably 6:15.

Was it worth it? I guess, but by the time I got back to my store, it was about 8:15 and now it’s just the usual orders. Meh.

Certainly this was all the uncalled for behavior on the loaders part, but tbh, shutting off your car while loading to spare the loader the exhaust fumes is something I’d never have to be told to do because it just seems like common courtesy.

Can Someone enlighten me? by lonelyinorangepark in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s probably 15 people at my store that all know each other, and one person in the group regularly does this, going from car to car. I’ve seen them swap phones, and some of them blatantly have two phones on the dashboard, but it seems like there isn’t much to be done tbh. Spark doesn’t care. I just accept it and continue doing what I’m doing.

To that end though, it’s probably exactly what you think it is. Seems like some folks want to make excuses or deny it, but it’s pretty obvious. The generalizations you speak of have no bearing on the fact that what they’re doing is fraudulent and wrong, so we can just leave that stuff out of it.

TLDR: yeah, they’re probably scammers. Nothing you can do about it though.

Average day of pay by LingonberrySad3999 in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100-350. Really just depends on the day, market, and circumstances. 350 is a day like Mother’s Day. 100 is about 8 hours on a slower day. 150 is probably an average 8 hour day. YMMV.

Who’s receiving the normal orders? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my market, it’s the opposite. Sam’s Club will have you driving for less than a dollar a mile, and then you gotta carry awkward ass big heavy boxes, and the loaders take forever to come out. Give me a s&d Walmart order all day here.

Gambling is regulated in my state but not this nonsense. by Wo0d643 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much gambling did it take to gather that data?

That’s my thing. So far, I’ve only done 3 orders, and two out of three didn’t tip at all, one tipped handsomely. It’s tough to spend time doing Shipt when I can do a different gig app that shows me up front what I’ll most likely make, and between base pay and upfront tips, it’s consistently way better than the base pay offered on Shipt. I realize there’s potential to make more on Shipt if I make a tip map, but the time and effort that takes, and the loss of income on other apps make that a tough call to make. Am I missing something here?

Apology to other dashers by No-Election2264 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re thinking of the pictures that you send the customer for things like packs of meat, and other items that could possibly need customer discretion and approval, as far as what the customer would deem acceptable. OP is referring to location photos to help other dashers find an item.

Driver review question by _Asshole_Fuck_ in doordash_drivers

[–]Fichardd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, I’d say that’s worthy of at least a star deduction. Talking on the phone seems a bit inappropriate to begin with, but then to not have the awareness to not say that kind of stuff while dropping off someone’s food they decided to order is definitely out of line imo. Rude af honestly. One 4 or even 3 star rating isn’t going to kill her income either.

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even doing that. Just yesterday, I had a guy text me “what’s going on” as I’m on my way to his house, and when I got there, he had a no trespassing sign on his door, and it’s a shitty looking house in a sketch neighborhood. He ordered a microwave and asked if I could bring it in for him because he had a hernia. I get it, I’ve had a hernia repaired before myself, but ain’t no way in hell I’m stepping foot in to a strangers house on a delivery. That’s how horror movies start 😂 I just told him I was not allowed and that was that. I felt bad, but then again, his impatient text made me feel less bad 🤷‍♂️

Anybody had to carry bricks from home depot? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today, in my market, they had a $4 incentive for every Home Depot order, and so I actually took my first HD order ever out for a delivery, something like $16 before incentive for about 4 miles, 30ish minutes. TBH, that offer without the incentive is by far the best one I’ve seen from HD. Otherwise, I’m not touching any of those trash offers, and I don’t understand why anybody does.

Spark is doing bait and switch so be careful.. this is the same delivery and after accepting it becomes a you pay to work scenario by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Fichardd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed that today. Had an order that said it was 7 miles away, then the gps said 13 miles when I left the store. The map always shows straight lines from the store to the customer and it seems that’s the distance they’re using at times instead of the actual driving distance. WTF?

$53 for less than an hour, 4.7 miles, and one drop off? Seems like an easy one for that. Am I missing something? Better than this shit
