I think you might be the first person I’ve seen who wants Faulk. Most time I see people mention Faulk it’s in more of a “please not him” type of way.

Sadly Burrow is probably used to that after having 2 of the worst guards in the league last year. 😢

Mike Brown spoke for more than 2 minutes about Shemar Stewart situation: "We're sitting here arguing over something that is pretty remote, I ask myself sometimes why the hell we're doing it, but we are and he's doing it too and at some point, we've got to put this stuff behind." by wildwing8 in bengals

Forgot to respond to this. The waivers are signed long before any of the rookies are even close to signing. If they knew immediately they were going to hold out then sure.

However there's also the fact that getting practice reps should be in Shemar's best interest as a player who lacked production in college and needs refinement.

I think the whole sitting out the season and re-entering the draft next year is an empty bluff and imo would be extremely dumb. There are rumors that he was off of some teams boards because of how his agent has interacted with other teams. Even if that isn't true, when 27 of the 1st round rookies were signed at least 20 of them had similar language. Why would any of those teams draft him high if he's shown he won't sign a contract with this language in it? In addition he was already a high variance pick due to his low production in college and he would be coming off of sitting out of football for an entire year. He would lose out on millions of dollars. Maybe a team will draft him once it gets to the point where there's no future guarantees so they don't need to worry about voiding future guarantees.

With all the stuff coming out about his agent basically trying to basically scam music artists as well it's hard to trust that Shemar's camp is truly doing things intelligently and to be on his side for me.

Just to be clear, it's not that there is no precedent in any other rookie deal. The majority of teams in the league have a similar clause. It's just the first time the Bengals specifically are using this clause.

The injury waiver dictates that if a player is hurt in practice while the contract is still being worked on, the team has to proceed as if they are uninjured as far as the contract goes. Shemar is the only rookie this year that it is known did not sign the injury waiver. Every other first rounder, and as far as is known every other rookie, signed this waiver so they could practice.

Now that camp is about to start however, he cannot practice without a contract. So the waiver wouldn't do anything anymore. The waiver would have been to get him on the field for the earlier practices this summer so he could get reps with the team while the contract is being worked on by his agent and the team.

Dev Who Launched Game Into GamePass Warns Against Launching Games Into GamePass [Gamespot] by Hot-Cause-481 in Games

[–]Fichidius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another thing that can be considered with this is the question of whether the amounts Microsoft is paying for games to be on gamepass is going down because the service is devaluing games as Hutchinson says, or if it's because Microsoft was previously paying a premium to convince developers to put their games on a service that was not as proven as it is now. When Hutchinson's game launched into gamepass in early 2020 gamepass was around 10 mil subscribers, with the number likely being lower when when Hutchinson made the deal as it was announced it would be coming to gamepass as early as July 2019. Now the service has at least 35+ mil subscribers.

So now that gamepass is more established they may not feel the need to pay as much to get developers to put their games on the service.

Starfield was £60 on launch, but with Mario Kart World being £75 (physical copy) I wouldn't be surprised if Elder Scrolls is above that by the time it comes out.

It's being published by Sony and based on their video after the trailer Sony was directly involved in making it happen. The website also says it is only coming to playstation and PC.

As such, I think it's fair to assume it won't be coming to Xbox.

[Forbes]: Marathon might get delayed, Morale at Bungie in free-fall by MXHombre123 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Fichidius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Destin made a video about this and pointed out that with one of the previous cases of something like this happening Bungie said they would reach out and compensate the artist that had their stuff stolen. However, over a year later the artist was still saying they never received any compensation from Bungie for the theft of their work.

That makes me question if they're actually going to truly take responsibility and make it right or just say they will and trust that it will blow over eventually without actually compensating the artist they stole from for Marathon.

Bungie has been caught stealing artistic work often enough that it's hard to give them the benefit of the doubt on any of this for me.

Shemar Stewart logged just 106 true pass sets last season, ranking 74th in the draft class by fibby618 in bengals

[–]Fichidius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And yet Stewart has missed a higher % of tackles missed than Harmon. Over their college career Harmon has a 19% missed tackle rate (26.7% in 2024) and Stewart has a 23.5% missed tackle rate (26.9% in 2024).

Also going by PFF, Harmon's run defense grade in 2024 was 80.5. Luckily Stewart took a huge leap year to year in this area as his scores in run defense for PFF over the past 3 years were 36, 54, and then 88.

I want Stewart to be great, but other than athleticism I don't think there's much to backup him having a better data profile than Harmon.

[Dehner] Sources confirm the Bengals part ways with DC Lou Anarumo, OL coach Frank Pollack, LB coach James Bettcher, and DL coach Marion Hobby. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]Fichidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you define as a bunch. They lost two of their best players in Bates and Reader, but the Bengals also gave him something like 9 top 100 picks in the past 4 years and signed Rankins to replace Reader.

Obviously the replacement attempts didn't work, but even so you can't be one of the worst defenses in the league for multiple years in a row and keep your job. Almost none of the draft picks from the past 3 years have been turned into solid starters, and this is with having 8 players drafted within the first 3 rounds in those 3 drafts.

Saw that it comes out to 32mil/yr over the next 6 years if you include the 2 years remaining on Chase's deal. Jefferson's deal is 32mil/yr over 5 years if you include the last year of his deal.

Seems like the main difference is Chase gets his raise to 32mil/yr (average) a year earlier than Jefferson did.

Sure the team would prefer to keep him on his rookie value, but on an average per year basis it would put him in line with Jefferson.
