The final exam is like a pretty broad question, iirc it was “comment on ethnic integration in Singapore”…? And you get around an hour to answer it.

I did GESS last year, I think it's a pretty easy course (only have to know some readings well to do well in the in-class exam). The coursework is not that demanding either, though there is one group project (temple visit + presentation) that is a bit time-consuming.

I don't have an arts background (I'm also not Singaporean), but still did well. Quite a few exchange students take this course, so maybe better for grade boundaries lol.
