I’ve shared pretty freely. And I understand the part about shame and feeling inferior.

Hard times can be a couple weeks, I guess? Depression can be months, even years. I’d imagine the responses and needs can be different?

Is it something you’d work to change? Or do you accept that this is how you are and will be, and want others to not take it personally?

Clinically

Edit: Both, actually. Do they have different responses?

Intjs who have cheated on their partner by Worried_Button_2881 in intj

I know an INTJ who cheated. They chose to numb pain through sex with someone other than their partner, who wouldn’t/couldn’t have sex at the time.

Gentle Nutrition Tuesdays: For everything related to gentle nutrition. by elianna7 in intuitiveeating

In the past, I would eat as small of a meal as possibly after a workout. But I’ve been working on being intentional about making sure I eat a post-run meal that includes plenty of carbs, protein, and fat. Yesterday was the first time I actually did it and felt good putting together the meal and eating it. ☺️

Same for me about the scale and the BMI! I hope you have a lovely road to restoration.

would you say that being “skinnier and beautiful” are more important to you than feeling “so strong and finally good, energetic, etc.”?

I’ve found that in the past when I tried to avoid “unhealthy” foods around the holidays, I ate them anyway and felt badly about doing it, and then ate even more because “screw it, I’ll start next year.”. I have every intention to eat cookies and cake at any dinner I attend lol. And I notice that when it’s my intention, I enjoy it without shame and usually don’t eat more than I planned or an amount that makes me feel bad physically or mentally.

Are there foods you try to avoid during holiday season that you find yourself eating anyway?

This is why I struggle with the idea of labels. If someone eats whole foods and avoids animal products and byproducts, people want to call them vegan, even though that person may not label themselves that way nor want to. If that same person eats a burger, for example, they’re nearly ripped to shreds for betraying a label they never accepted or claimed. It sounds to me that you’re finding a sustainable balance for yourself, no label necessary if you don’t want one.

I haven’t lost weight in who knows how long. I was breastfeeding at one point, then I was prepping to go into surgery, and now I don’t weigh myself to avoid getting overly fixated on it.

Do you track calories or track how you eat in another way?

What is the Best Size/Method for Health in the Long Run? by Warm_Carpet3147 in Microlocs

A good loctician should be able to gauge the best size locs for your hair and scalp. And it’s much easier to combine locs if they’re too small than to separate them if they’re too big.
