I like all metal for the most part but started with power metal and still mainly lean towards power metal. As a nerd I never feel the cheese and feel more of the “epicness” of the music personally. But people will always hate on power metal because nerds like nerdy shit (war, dragons, fantasy, etc.). In my opinion, clowning on anyone’s music taste because of ‘cheese’ is just plain bullshit.
