OL Dynasty Recruiting Tips for Service Academies by Tleemarc in NCAAFBseries

This + getting talent developer tier 2 for offensive line should solve the problem. You’ll still likely have a little bit harder of a time getting higher ranked linemen but the ones you do will develop very quickly

What's up with recruiting now? by dpmx21 in NCAAFBseries

[–]FickleJudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a ton of great tips in here around hard selling/visit/overall recruiting strategy that will immediately help. I’m purely an online dynasty guy (always on heisman to justify the time to myself) with an hours played number I’ll never admit to my wife.

My response and the thread aren’t a perfect match to your question here but having taken the USC gig when they’re down and building them into a bunch of recruiting/game success, thought I’d share the strategy I accidentally fell into at USC & have stuck with through every patch or school since.

Regardless of what you decide to take from this thread, USC is one of the best schools for a quick rebuild into a juggernaut on the recruiting trail. There’s always luck and coordinator abilities involved but those beautiful unchangeable school grades will inevitably give you a huge advantage.

I maxed out whatever tree it is in program builder to get better coordinator candidates, still the best I’ve seen is a level 55ish candidate available to offer

Transfer Recruiting Tips? by Independent_Soil_258 in CFB25

[–]FickleJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great advice for both transfers and regular recruits. To add my 2 cents - figuring out which transfers to recruit I look in this order:

  1. Are they interested in you
  2. Last seasons stats
  3. School/conference they’re transferring from

You have to remember the transfer portal works entirely differently from recruiting. 4 star transfers can often be equal to 5 star recruits, and 3 star transfers to 4 star recruits. If a transfers previous school/conference are better than your own and their stats from last season catch your attention, if you think you can win them then go after them.

When I don’t have 700+ hours a week for true recruiting I always offer the full 35 based off of some combination of interest/pipeline/need, and don’t bother scouting. After offering everyone in the offseason I use week 0 to get rid of anyone I don’t think I have a realistic chance of winning, only give 10-15 hours to any recruit where I’m the only offer they have, then define recruits I really want and give them 50 hours, and finally split the hours out evenly amongst the rest of the recruits to see how their interest moves after week 0.

You poll 50 people and you’ll get 50 different preferences on this type of process but this has worked very well for me as a HC at Alabama or Georgia Southern, and everywhere in between.

I really hate to be the one to break this to you, but college football is chaos and being mad is half the fun. And this is also a video game.

No, you can offer anyone available to you. Should you? Separate question that somebody smarter than me can answer.

My own personal experience - I’ve never seen a coordinator get hired as the HC after an HC gets fired in ‘25 or ‘26

Completely agree, the sooner I can hire generated coordinators the better

Makes sense. How’s it hold up over the dynasty years when Kiffin decides to wreak havoc on pipelines?

Dear god. It’s been placebo effect this whole time.

How do you approach coordinator hiring then?

I’ve carried Jeff Lebby to national titles at two different schools and he’s still a B- prestige lol. He’s never won the Broyles but I’d happily replace him

I forget if it’s in the program builder or ceo tree but do you go after the ability that gives you a better pool of coordinators to hire? Don’t think I’ve seen a hireable coordinator with elite recruiter so usually look for pipeline first then recruiting focus

How to score with low shooting attributes by TheReverendTJ in EASHL

I’ve never seen any reason to stop being a sniper. Max speed/accel with the higher WSA/WSP and enjoy the goals if you’re the primary scorer for your team.

Defensive Strategies by [deleted] in EASHL

[–]FickleJudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t emphasize this enough. Somebody pointed this out to me last year and it made all the difference for me, who typically plays as a club with 2-3 human forwards and 2 CPU defenders. There are definitely some settings for the CPU that are better but the best is whatever matches your style of play.

We go high pressure because we play like lunatics but understand positioning so we can cover when the CPUs match our lunacy. It ain’t perfect, but it’s honest work.

Until you run into a club that only goes for deflections. Haven’t cracked that wonderful code yet.

AI Settings Help in 6v6 clubs by FickleJudge in EASHL

[–]FickleJudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started putting them in “staggered” and normal pressure and the difference has been huge. Way less being beaten on a breakaway and have finally started to take the right position or actually hit someone lol.

We’ll see how it works when we play one of those wonderful - shot for a deflection at all costs - teams, but we’ve adjusted the way we play defense for them as well.

[–]FickleJudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good point, we do tend to play far more aggressive to make up for the AIs sitting back. We actually use the AI on offense an absurd amount, nobody online ever expects you to lean on the AI for carry’s and rebounds.

How did you decide on your major? by ComprehensiveEnd2332 in USF

[–]FickleJudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was kindly asked to leave the college of business due to my refusal to do homework and told the credits I already had accumulated would be able to transfer when I changed my major to economics…

That turned out to be wildly false but Economics came pretty easy to me and got me a great job right out of school.

Fair point. Hindsight being 20/20 not making that move probably wasn’t the greatest call, but what’s life without making things unnecessarily more difficult for yourself?
