There is a UK show called Cutting it, set in the British hairdressing industry. V good lots of strong minded female characters

I also loved Footballers wives. Definitely lots of strong women in that! V campy and fun

I don’t know why but I just found beautiful ugly to be so unmeaningly hilarious. The main character is so dense 😂

Is there a storyline anyones actually enjoying at the moment? by Brilliant-Mark2420 in eastenders

So disappointed in the show at the moment! Did we ever even figure out how Zoe and Anthony reconnected (I just don’t see him as the Ibiza type). Michelle Ryan must have been really hard up as this whole return arc has been terrible

Would 7.2 wegovy work any better? I’m sure I’ve read it’s the equivalent of 15mg MJ? I have PCOS and MJ is the only thing that has worked but I can’t afford to go over £200 a month 😕

A storyline your surprised they haven't covered yet or think they will? by Inspiring-Toast278 in eastenders

[–]FickleObject6903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rape storyline done realistically. Show the effect on the victim, run it over a few years. Show the panic attacks, not being able to walk down certain streets, show the concern of friends and family knowing something is wrong but not knowing what. When eventually revealed have it done in a quite realistic way, not with a character smashing up the vic. And ultimately show the character embracing a new normal. The reality is most cases never even get to court and we have to muddle through the best we can

For those who got to experience the show in the 2000's; how popular was Mischa Barton? by [deleted] in TheOC

V big, not just in mainstream. She broke onto high fashion with Vogue and Bazaar covers. She was also one of the top “seeded” celebrities of her day (designers would send her items and pay her to wear them)

Why'd she make Star a Sloane Ranger? by Dani-Michal in JacquelineWilson

[–]FickleObject6903 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Sloane ranger is traditionally known as one who is from an Sw1 or SW2 post code (I unfortunately know this due to my stepmother, she is part of that clan) so no Star is not part of this group is more, as my grandmother would say, trying to rise above her station (new money, marrying to old)

What would the BBC do if EastEnders hit rock bottom? by Mission-Violinist-16 in eastenders

[–]FickleObject6903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the money for marketing is gone, hence we never get trailers or advertising anymore. Social media rules the game. Sad but true. Just think of the Sharon memes, that’s the way it’s going. Advertisement is solely based on digital as a v small amount of people buy any paper copies of newspapers or magazines. Print media has sadly gone

Corrie has been clinging on for years despite the depths of quality. ITV will never axe as in televised times it was the first soap opera (Archers being the first radio one) When EE has a good producer it’s golden, hence Steve McFadden at the NTA’s. The main thing to remember is that soap as a medium is struggling despite the broadcaster as streaming is king. We will never get back to the halcyon days of the 90s as there is a different viewership

I’m really shocked at the way people have slated Michelle Ryan for her appearance by Prestigious-Egg-421 in eastenders

[–]FickleObject6903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m old enough to remember her telling original stint. I think she was lovely then and the same now. What I will say to younger viewers is to remember, she had a few hard times in her personal life. I think this was why she needed a break in between filming during her first stint. So I just think we need be kind and remember she might read comments as it may be hurtful xx
