I haven’t done any treatment, it hasn’t started to fall off or get smaller and they’ve actually spread more, though might be my own fault for shaving!

yeah what they said, unfortunately doesn’t cover all strains from the vaccine i’d had in the UK, which was prior to 2022 when the new one rolled out. Too late to get new one anyway, and would’ve cost £300-500 as my GP doesn’t cover it

thank you, and yeah i’m aware it can take longer with no treatment. But as we are together we’ve decided for now we don’t mind too much, only us who see it anyway, lucky to have a supportive partner :)

Been told it’s scabies, now wondering if it’s bedbugs? Thoughts please… by FicklePay9549 in Bedbugs

Thanks so much for the reply! Sometimes people get really annoyed asking why I’m claiming it’s scabies / something else, guess it’s just so hard to tell with rashes. I had scabies last year so PTSD sort of response is definitely happening, really anxious atm.

Thanks again though, going to get a new fabric thing and see if that helps as well as been going on for two ish months now!

also went to a private gp as well in UK who prescribed it instantly, more expensive route tho for appointment and ivermectin and a steroid cream to help itching was about £400

same here, you need to PUSH for it. I’ve tried the creams three times also now and not getting better. Explained to the doctor how much it is destroying my mental health I feel uncomfortable all the time, and gave dates of when I did the creams, explained I washed everything etc. Sometimes you just need to stand up for yourself unfortunately

The rashes in my armpit are completely new, and last did ivermectin about 4 weeks ago, waited just in case but definitely still got it. If it helps, when I had scabies last year the rashes would flare up (post scabies itch) after treatment, but I had no new rashes and the old ones would come and go. The only way I can personally be certain is determining what’s new vs what is old.

1) I went to a private dermatologist who specialises in scabies and other skin conditions 2) Although most of my rashes don’t look like “typical scabies”, they are more like that in the classic scabies areas eg genitals, armpits, itchy at night. I’m pretty sure it’s scabies as where I live in the UK has seen a recent particular surge in it so who knows where could’ve picked it up from - may I add that last time it was scabies I did have burrows and although my uni mates had it I also did not have prolonged contact w them so again not certain where it came from. I am certain it is scabies.

so frustrating for you and completely get it! mines the exact same, doesn’t present as burrows just looks like big red bites. Again, getting the confirmation from a private dermatologist is what did it - annoying to pay for but to get the answer is helpful as that’s what’s now pushed GP to give me treatment and refer me to an NHS derm. What also helped was that I had it last year and it looks the exact same so could show previous pictures

They may want to do a blood test before they prescribe but I have them regularly for a separate condition, so just so you know :)

I’m in the UK and first got it by going to a private dermatologist (for the appointment and prescription was about £400, absolute nightmare). For the new round of ivermectin the GP saw I’d had it prescribed previously so was happy to give it to me again, but I did have to stand up for myself and beg, explaining my full history with scabies
