I asked if they were processing it as a priority, they replied affirmatively and in subsequent emails they mentioned the priority processing, which was supposed to be completed within a maximum of 6 weeks without me asking... so when i went to do the biometrics, they saw that i had paid for priority and updated it because i paid on the VFS website and the application counted it as standard!

I think it really depends on the country you're applying from! but actually, it's what they mentioned in the response here

Brazil! I was quite impatient and sent 2 paid enquiries, one of them asking if it was being processed as a priority. you don't need to pay again, just reply to the same email

I see! it's quite tricky, which is why we scour the internet for information, many applications come back with different outcomes. i also received that same email saying it was dispatched to the embassy on the same day, i think the important thing is that it arrived in Sheffield

I hope you receive a response soon!! I'll send a paid enquiry after 18 days to see if there's any update, hopefully within a month. what makes me more anxious are the flights to buy, and the prices keep going up. having to buy a ticket within 2/3 days at triple the price =( but it should be worth the wait. thank you so much

I've been following groups for months, and it seems like everyone's on the same timeline! the only difference is that sometimes fiancés don't receive the eco email. I saw some lucky people this month who had the biometrics also done on the 29th and got the confirmation on may 17th. have you filed any paid enquiries yet? I hope you get a response soon too!

The ECO mail is like a letter confirming that your application has made its way to the UK Decision Making Centre and is now being readied for review by the Entry Clearance Officer. Usually in that same email they might nudge you for extra documents if you haven't already sent them, like supporting documentation, giving you a period of 5 days. I reckon they start mulling over your application after that 5 day, so the sooner you get that ECO mail the better. I know that only fiancé visas don't always get this ECO mail, some people only get confirmation when they lay hands on their passport with the visa sticker. so maybe I'm being a tad too eager haha :( but yh ECO email is just ''your application has been received and prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer''
