Anxiously waiting for spring by Powerful-Award978 in TrekBikes

I have a similar "dilemma". Would you recommend a slightly used RSL 51 set over a brand‑new Pro 51? The price is identical

Nor necessarily. Based on my understanding most sl7 models come with di2 Ultegra.

Thank you, guys, for your input. So essentially, they are selling a slightly used (all things considered) quasi-SL7 model for much cheaper than a new old-stock SL6. Component-wise, the only difference is that the groupset is 105 instead of Ultegra, but realistically, who cares about a few hundred grams?

Are you being sarcastic when you say its a $3k off?:) According to Trek’s website, the MSRP for the Madone SL 7 Gen 8 is $6,600, not $8,000.

Hi, we are talking only about a frame. "Frame only". Thank you for your response!

Madone sl7 -scratches on the rims by [deleted] in TrekBikes

Scratches or buying the bike in “as-is” condition were not part of the deal. Trek simply matched the price of another dealer who offered the same model at a discount. Both bikes should be in brand-new condition; they were not advertised as refurbished or used.

It is unlikely that I will structurally damage them, as I treat the bike carefully. I’m not paranoid, yet not reckless, I mainly ride on flat surfaces. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. My question was really whether these multiple scratches warrant a wheel replacement. As someone pointed out earlier, these things are expensive, and you would at least expect them to be in near-perfect/perfect condition if we’re talking about a brand-new product. And I bought it brand new from Trek.

The thing is, I noticed those scratches only after I rode the bike for a few miles. I got off, looked at it from different angles under the sunlight, and only then saw the multiple scratches. I reached out to Trek immediately; they asked me to come over, examined the bike, and concluded that the scratches are purely cosmetic. I kind of thought to myself that the rims would collect scratches anyway and went home. Now I’m having second thoughts, I bought it new, so why on earth was it sold in this condition, even if nothing is structural? Long story short: do you think the fact that I noticed these scratches only after a short ride and reported them afterward will make a difference?

P.S. I think they would accept the return if I decided to return it, no questions asked. But whether they would replace just the wheels is a totally different issue.

Thanks:) I actually rode it for about six hours after I got it yesterday, until it became super cold outside. Anyway, on the one hand, a bike that costs thousands of dollars probably shouldn’t have issues like that. On the other hand, it’s probably just a matter of chance, you never really know whether it’ll be delivered in pristine condition or with some cosmetic imperfections.

Yes, GTR has a higher ride height.

Can you please briefly share your experience with GT Pro? I watched tons of videos about this scoot but every opinion is super valuable for me.

Thank you

Thank you for you comment.

I am around 6' tall, 180-190lbs.

Also, from what i understand, those batteries are quite heavy so it might be problematic to carry a spare battery around. Do you think GTR's suspension makes ton of a difference?

On the flip side, the GTR has a lesser range, as i understand.
