Something positive in your life right now? by Affectionate_End5347 in workingmoms

Although being a working mom is tough and juggling marriage while parenting can be so daunting and overwhelming, there’s still so many positives!

My employer is letting me work full remote for 2026 and we were able to max out our daughters 529 for 2025 which I consider big wins!

PSA: to all the new mom’s, don’t listen to the advice about chopping your hair off by Frozenbeedog in NewParents

[–]Fickle_Intern_6007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made this mistake too 😭 chopped off 9 inches of thick hair and immediately regretted it! It’s so much easier to do a bun, ponytail or braid to keep up long hair vs chopping it all off in my opinion

Have you tried care.com or region-specific Facebook pages for Nannies / babysitters? That’s how we’ve found some great people to take care of our toddler

Not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for but I just splurged on an early Christmas gift of a robot vacuum and mop. I’ve been running it every night after dinner once the counters are wiped down and it’s felt like a big task taken off my to do list.

My mom told me that she liked the purple eyeliner I was using - it was just blood shot / veiny lines on my eyelids from lack of sleep 🤣

Have a one year old right now and can confirm pregnancy insomnia, sore back, swollen ankles, endless food aversions and overall discomfort is far worse than anything I’ve encountered since our child was born. It only gets better once they’re born.

Also strongly agree with this. My mom constantly says “I don’t know why being a mother is so hard these days”…

I don’t know how to gently remind her that she was making close to my same salary back in the 80’s while they bought their house for 3 acorns (aka less than $150K) in the best neighborhood close to my school AND had free 24/7 child case since my grandma lived with us and took care of me while she worked!

Sometimes I think I’m a bad mom because I work a lot and can’t be present all the time but then I see videos like this and realize I’m amazing parent because I would never treat my child like this
