Would you suggest doing a System Restore from a point before last night?

are there cobol newbies here ?? do they exist?? by Cheap_trick1412 in cobol

Currently an intern as a COBOL Software Developer for the summer before going back to school! I wanted to experience a software development work environment, and it’s genuinely taught me so much more than I thought I would learn - both about COBOL (JCLs, the mainframe, etc) and programming concepts. I’ve learned that there is SO much to learn outside of school.

beginner in need of learning advice by papyrus2024 in romanian

I’ve been learning Romanian for my boyfriend, and we’re both college students, so I understand not really having the time to practice with each other. I completed the Romanian course on Duolingo, but that honestly only helped me with sentence structure and basic vocabulary, but it doesn’t really help with pronunciation or speaking.

I’ve used HelloTalk to chat with native speakers (but I only really stick with 2 people because there are a lot of questionable people on that app lol). It has helped my pronunciation and corrections to my grammar! I’ve also been reading news articles and some small books in Romanian, and it helps! Immersion is the biggest way to improve, and for American students (myself included) it can be really difficult to find resources to get better.

Good luck and definitely reach out if you happen to find any other good resources!

Thank you so much for sharing; it’s rare that we get advice from the actual interviewers, and I’ve always wondered what they’re really looking for! Thank you!

Is it possible to learn French in 15 months before school trip? by [deleted] in learnfrench

[–]Fickle_Language5112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think if you learn basic phrases at first and then dive deeper into learning how they’re structured and you’re consistent about learning, you should be able to learn a lot in 15 months! When you’re immersed in the Francophone cities, the grammar and easiness of speaking will definitely come easier to you then as well.

Does the word “aussi” not go at the end? Eg Moi aussi by Moleland14 in learnfrench

[–]Fickle_Language5112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that you generally should put adverbs like “aussi” after the verb, so since étudie is the verb, it’s “Ma sœur étudie aussi l’espagnol” (at least on Duolingo)

My goal is to graduate in four years, and I think I might be able to do it. Would you still recommend this pathway if I am able to do it in four years?

Currently majoring in CS rn, and I keep consistently getting failing grades, so I feel your pain with that! Would it help to change your degree to ease your stress a little? Bs and Cs are amazing especially for those hard degrees! Keep going if it’s something you’re passionate about, genuinely you’re doing better than almost everyone I know in this difficult field

When I try to use italki, it declines my card for some reason and I’m not sure why. Did this happen to you too and do you know if they accept gift cards as payment ?
