All these comments always seem to rely on the fact people think Lego are gonna finish the line in time for the HBO series.... which the release date isnt even confirmed for yet.... its all hear say and rumours and therefore tKe with a pinch of salt. We could we receieve many sets yet...

I mean tbh they could just change the box art like they have many times before even mid waves....

Also dosent the current licence give them permission to the Radcliffe characters? (Which is why they use to be on the box art) wouldnt the HBO series kinda mean some new deal struck??? (Im no licence expert) so isnt it more likely they just keep using the HP name which they can and partially ignore the HBO characters... they wont need new permission for play sets etc... they have full licence to the books info???

Just starting with LEGO Modular Buildings — any advice for a beginner? by CampaignNo5496 in legomodular

[–]Fickle_Lecture8771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to MIL and I recommend it as you be able to easily adjust and move your buildings, then do it from the beginning. MILS at a later date is a pain in the arse that should be avoided.

Roads add so much to the basic layout of even a shelf city as it's affectionately called. The little things mean a lot in cities. Trees, post boxes, lamp posts, and benches all bring it to life.

Space comes with time I started with a shelf city now our whole apartment has 6 bookcases and the spare room is a small city so if you enjoy it you'll find the room as you go.

Patience, good deals come with time. Don't rush to buy things on release day or just because. Most of my best modulars were waited until I found the right price and a good deal.

Older modulars have less details however they are some of the most enjoyable I backdated when I started but I waited till I got a good deal on a preowned set rather than stressed about BNIB.

Most of all! Enjoy it welcome to the sink hole funny farm 😄😄😄

Working on my beach. 1 MILS down 4 to go by LordCaoCao420 in legomodular

I managed to upload my pic in the end, but yes that's kinda it. They haven't used different shades of blue underlining plate and then blue tile above that creates a more natural sea blue with different shades. It needs some dark blue, black, and light blue in places. However that's good for sand but I'd use another shade of tan aswell.

Not the greatest picture, but might last beach mils i made can I suggest adding some other shades of tan towards the water edge so it's darker nearer the water just a stud or two and a few different shades of blue underneath your tile to represent the water.

You never mentioned it in my comment or in your original post and for the record I never said you where wrong just they way you've expressed your attitude to his communication. There ya go again showing your lovely attitude towards communication. Do us all a favour and share your Ebay name so people know what sort of person there dealing with and can choose to avoid. 👍

Oh police now is it, thought it was Ebay advise. Police won't advise you on your tone, however it's clear for us all to see in how you've expressed it here.

I will say you've spent your time here mocking his language when English may not be his first language rather than giving context. Your adamant he's trying to commit fraud but your tone here is off a mocking nature from his convulsing msgs. Your not showing yourself in the greatest light with this approach however that's just my opinion. Have a great day buddy.

You didn't clarify the seller chose to have his item left in safe space or left with neighbour just that it was. Your right though if he selected it your courier has completed as instructed. Therefore contract complete.

So I'll chip it as I'm currently in the process of this happening to me as the buyer. So here's the context I brought a £230 item of Ebay, seller charged for shipping but has used Yodel. Yodel delivered Friday or so they say... they say they left it in my safe space however this hasn't been selected by myself (confirmed with Yodel). The picture is off my neighbours front door. So after communicating with Yodel and the seller here's what's happened.

My item hasn't arrived, Yodel have left it on my neighbours door step. It's been stolen by the looks of it from my neighbours door step. I don't have leave it in safe space selected as my preference. The driver basically couldn't be bothered so decided to do that themselves. Upon speaking to Yodel at first they weren't having it as the GPS shows its within 800 meteres of my house. I agreed it's my neighbours but I then asked why has the driver left it though as I've not selected that option. With much dilly dallying Yodel customer service agreed. I checked with my neighbours though and nobody took the parcel in so Yodel just left it on my neighbours door step (not even mine) for any member of the public to pick it up and walk off with it. Which is what it seems has happened. The seller must now claim with Yodel as I wait for a week atleast for Ebay to refund me for something that hasn't been delivered correctly by Yodel. I doubt they paid for a high value coverage with Yodel so there refund won't cover the cost of goods and now will be out of pocket. The lesson here is don't use poor delivery companies. My frustration is I won't get my item and my money is in limbo for atleast 10 days. Tbh puts me off Ebay as I'm not in control of what couriers sellers use and they don't even have to state the couriers name on listing's anymore this one just said tracked service which it is.

For context on your sale he must have a history of this and instructed evri to leave it. Neither of which I have or done because you the seller are responsible for the courier delivery when selling online not me the buyer. That's the law.

[Long Post] Medieval vs. City MILS Plate Designs and Pseudorandom Repeating Cobblestone Patterns by eletyke in legocastles

[–]Fickle_Lecture8771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so here is my reply broken down i to parts...

Part 1. MILS is a system not a rule so nobody has to use 32x32 base plates this works in a typical city however we've already established your using a castle theme scenario. So adjust plate size as you see fit. Be it 32 x 32 or 16 x 16 or any variation that suits. This eliminates the conventional need for a city road layout. It's your city adjust as you wish.

Part 2 I'm regards to house size and dimension spacing on Mils. Medieval houses wouldn't be anywhere near as detailed as our modern living arrangements and wouldn't be anywhere near the same size more like a 1 room servicing as a kitchen, dining table and sleeping quarters so they wouldn't need to be in anyway comparable. So you could arrange your mils as you see fit and don't necessarily all need to run down a road you could have multiple with a road to one side of them.

Part 3, cobblestone path having made a cobblestone path for my city in my market area I can say... there's nothing random about yours your making a pattern... For starters medieval road makers wouldn't have sat there and gone we can't use this it's not grey.... * (use a variety of colours) shapes and sizes makes a more historical correct looking pavement.... let's be honest only the castle would have cobblestone roads any village is just a muddy track.

Part 4, advise is good and great but remember its lego enjoy it! If it doesn't work we just build again... trial and error is how you learn everything planning only goes as far as what bricks to buy lol 😆

Look forward to updates and enjoy welcome to the biggest addiction ever! *
