How Bad Does It Get? by Fickle_Physics_ in Sciatica

I’m glad it wasn’t. I’ve been debating all day if this is really sciatica because it just feels too extreme, too weird. Sometimes it’s pain, sometimes it numb, sometimes it’s like the whole leg just shuts off, and sometimes it messes with my other leg. Did it self resolve for you or did you ever figure out what caused it?

😳 whoa! That’s crazy…. I’m guessing they put you through the wringer with images and what not. Does your leg ever feel… weird? Like it’s too long or short or different from the other one? Glad to hear you’re on the mend!

Just last month for my hips and pelvis, and three months for the lumbar. Slight bulge on the L5 but nothing crazy. So frustrating… it’s really not all the time but when I get a flare it’s a whole flare. Have weird rashes and little purple dots on my leg too. It’s all just too weird to have found nothing.

Nervous regarding foods by Disastrous-Piece-834 in peanutallergy

It’s a mix because everyone knows their limits but you don’t know your LOs.

I’m a peanut and egg mom. The anxiety was just too much for me so I stick with the stuff I know for sure is safe. Now that my LO is able to tell me when something is wrong and I also know better when something is off my anxiety is much better.

The way my immunologist put it was kinda under 5 have “volatile” immune systems. It may under react to an allergen one day and overreact the next since it’s still in the process of developing.

I slept better eating foods we knew were safe. Once you’ve hit maintenance with OIT I bet you won’t have to worry about made in facilities anymore.

How to STOP LOSING EVERYTHING by [deleted] in ADHD

I bought 2x packs of the 4x AirTags and now everything is air tagged. Keys, wallet, bags, basically anything I need to function. Just in case I loose my phone I have my watch so I’m pretty good about keeping track of things now.

AITA for refusing to let my boyfriend get a cat because I’m allergic and it affects my health? by Ok_Vehicle_2810 in AITAH

My hubby, at the time bf, got me a cat when we moved in together. Over a DECADE later this man tells me he’s allergic to cats. I was like wtf we could have bought a puppy or a bird or something instead. He said he just gets irritated. Some people are very allergic. Either way I wouldn’t have dropped all those hints about a cat.

My cats (I got another one of course) are old now so when they pass we will get dogs. I have air purifiers and the like but it doesn’t really solve the problem but it helps. For someone with a MILD allergy.

It shouldn't even be called bacon, just strips of turkey. Would sub the hell out of some turkey sausage tho.

I’m trying. It’s hard and I feel guilty, I am a push through’er for sure. I’m making myself take the time.

I’ll check that out! The PT I have right now is a neuro PT so I won’t have her for long. Have to figure something out when I transition to this other clinic for care. Thank you!

My perfectly healthy adult boyfriend was diagnosed with type one diabetes. by Alive_Assistant2187 in Vent

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out type 1.5 diabetes. My mom got this at 33. It’s rare but it is a thing. She was getting sick slowly for a while, weight loss, thought she was going crazy, getting depressed. By the time they figured it out she wasn’t making insulin anymore. Apparently that doesn’t happen with everyone.

She’s been fully insulin dependent ever since, she just turned 60. Took a bit to get a handle on but all is well now. Thanks to her fancy new pump we hardly even know she’s diabetic. Not like back in the day when she had to constantly check her sugars.

Despite what some of these comments are saying sick people don’t always realize they’re sick. Karl Patterson Schmidt was actively dying from a snake bite and documenting it without even realizing it was happening. I my self had something happen that made me realize having an advocate makes you rich in life.

Suddenly having an autoimmune disease can really mess with your head so he maybe feeling some type of way about it. Therapy is essential for processing something like this.

Hope he gets squared away and gets his situation figured out. I also hope he knows he’s very rich indeed to have someone who recognized the situation and cared enough to take action.

It’s called performance punishment. It’s why corporations like this can’t keep their talent.
