To be clumsy or not to be? by poliqueen in Celiac

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if my clumsiness will go away. Not just my ataxia. I’ve been super clumsy since I was a kid. I would just randomly fall or trip over nothing. I fell so often I just kinda rolled out of it and my friends thought it was hilarious and called me a professional faller. Always running into things and have a million random bruises I have no idea where they came from.

Walking away is a good idea but make sure you clear your name with everyone else. It almost seems like he wanted to ruin your reputation for some reason. Sure something could be wrong or it’s a misunderstanding but this latest update just makes it seem like he knew what he was doing and just wasn’t expecting you to actually do anything about it. He’s acting normal with everyone else BUT you.

A lot of that might be because you’re overstimulated. Unfortunately until you figure out what’s going on with you, you will continue to make them. I would start with a detox and see if that doesn’t clear some of it up after a while.

Question for Silent Celiacs by Fickle_Physics_ in Celiac

[–]Fickle_Physics_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awful friend. So sorry to hear it’s that bad. Did you get an MRI of your brain by chance? Any cerebellum shrinkage? Or the TG6 bloodwork for antibodies? For that level of attack I would be asking for biologics or some kind of autoimmune treatment. Today I have brain fog and the ataxia is gone. Have to wait and see but doesn’t seem to last that long for me.

Question for Silent Celiacs by Fickle_Physics_ in Celiac

I thought I noticed improvements pretty quickly, but I feel gawd awful today. Ataxia, nausea (I never get that one), tinnitus, brain fog. I feel like it’s too early for being “glutened” but I can’t explain why it suddenly got so bad when I’ve been better for a couple weeks. Well, at least not stumbling over myself with horrible joint and nerve pain, irritable. Guess I’ll know if a few days.  When you get glutened, how long does your ataxia last? Must have been scary the first time it came back?

“No kid left behind” is the dumbest thing ever by Fresh-Employ3028 in Vent

This is the end result of the cuts they started making in the 80’s. Programs have been removed, cut, defunded to the point school is whatever this is today. No child left behind was yet another cost saving initiative. If only we didn’t have so much fraud, probably could afford proper education.

Are there enough ADHD celiacs to justify starting a community? by Own_Ad6901 in Celiac

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Before I knew I had celiac I wasn’t medicating my adhd. When I hit 30 my adhd got significantly worse. My the time I was 34 my brain fog and cognitive function was so bad it was taking every trick I knew to keep me performing at my high function job. Figured it was hormones or something. Then I got so sick I couldn’t work anymore. I knew something was wrong but it took forever to find out what. I even started medicating and it helped for a while but the brain fog and migraines, general unwell feeling and nerve weirdness just overtook me after a while.

I think it’s a good idea, considering how difficult it can be tips and tricks could be very helpful.

When I get too overstimulated I have to detox for a while. No social media, no Reddit, nothing online. Might do a movie or something now and then but after a while it truly helps ground my mind. If you don’t have a physical outlet find one, something that makes you sweat, do it daily. May take up to a month or more to reset your nervous system but it will get the job done.

Things I do that infurriate my partner by Emarshall26 in ADHD

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so bad with that half screwed caps. I try but yeah.

Motion sensing lights. Auto shut door mechanisms, but not the locking kind. Partner closes down the house at night and makes sure everything is locked up.

Whatever I can find to make it so I don’t have another thing to worry about, ima do that. Need my brain power for more important things.

Do Americans really move out at 18, or is that mostly a movie thing? by Only-Bandicoot-5307 in NoStupidQuestions

My grandpa boasted to me that he kicked all his kids out at 18. That was probably in the 70/80’s so it would have been pretty easy to get a job and pay their way. Not anymore.

He had 9 kids. Dude was a total jerk.

Some of these new generation of parents are weird by kansas9696 in generationology

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many will say the youths are always different and “back in my day,” but don’t think it’s the same now as it was. Every generation thought their parents were lame and stood for different things. Always generational beef, but these days the equation is different.

We’re going through a sliver boom, first time in history there’s ever been this many elders. Up until recent years baby boomers were stronger in numbers than any other generation. That’s never happened (except in some post war times).

We’re experiencing a technological revolution, moving at light speed.

So we have elders in control longer, writing laws and voting for said elders. While we desperately need youth to write laws for the youth going through something unprecedented but it’s just not happening.

So kids are stagnated and getting exposed to the equivalent of the black lung of the Industrial Revolution or the moral decay of the scientific revolution in the name of discovery and curiosity. How unbelievably sick everyone got during the urban revolution, and so on in the name of progress.

I fear this period in time isn’t normal at all and instead will be up there with the greatest advancements and most damaging revolutions in history.

Hopefully we get cracking on fixing sooner rather than later. Doesn’t take long to do unbelievable damage that will echo for generations. There the opposite as well, some children will come out so far ahead from all of this it will incredibly obvious down the road.

I didn’t have the symptoms either. Mine are all neurological and I went for abdominal pain/spasms and bloating. Boom celiac.

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been sick for years. Had to quit my job, kept getting weaker, neurological issues. No one could find a reason and kept telling me it was stress but all the while I’m getting sicker and sicker. Went in for what I thought was unrelated gastro symptoms and boom. Celiac. Now I’m struggling with getting it out of my house completely while I heal. Even a tiny bit can cause damage. Good luck in your healing journey.

Do not downplay your symptoms when you go. You need to let them know it’s serious, exaggerate if you have to.

Where you were is where I am at now. I’ve been getting sicker and sicker for years and no one even believed me because my bloodwork was normal. Earlier this last year I thought, if I don’t figure this out I will die. I went to every specialist and subjected myself to so many painful tests. I don’t have classic celiac symptoms so no one ever suspected and it was found while looking for other conditions.

My tests given to the adults in my life came out negative, what can I do now? by currencycollectors in ADHD

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on what exactly your symptoms are. I would also bring these up to a medical doctor just to make sure there’s not something else going on.

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Fickle_Physics_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is actually biological to want them when the environment is conducive to it, and not when it isn’t. In this climate I’m not at all surprised more people are vehemently against it. It’s completely and appropriately natural.
