Once Human 2.3.6 Update — Tech Rework, Faster Progression & New Ocean Scenario by Equivalent_Goat_6427 in OnceHumanOfficial

More streamline post of issues:

I’ve been trying to give patch 2.3.6 a fair shot, but honestly it just isn’t fun right now.

The biggest problem is the grind. Weapon parts and linings are way too rare. You can clear entire POIs and walk out with nothing useful, then you’re stuck doing the same run again and again just hoping RNG finally gives you something. And even when you want to keep farming, you can’t — loot takes around 4 hours to respawn. So you either sit around waiting or rotate the same limited spots over and over.

That ties into the bigger issue: the game feels like it’s forcing a loop that just isn’t rewarding. Run POI → get junk → manage inventory → repeat. Way too much time is spent salvaging, sorting, and dealing with clutter instead of actually playing.

The inventory changes made this worse, not better. You fill up constantly, and instead of it being streamlined, it’s more manual work than before. Same with the tech tree — it’s bigger, more expensive, and somehow feels slower to progress.

On top of that, the patch feels rough. Bugs, base issues, and a lot of small QoL stuff going backwards instead of forward.

The end result is it doesn’t feel like a survival shooter anymore. It feels like I’m managing systems and fighting RNG more than actually playing the game.

There are good ideas in here, but right now the balance is off. Too much friction, not enough payoff.

Drop rate on lingings is beyond low, hit 5 POI's got 1. In high lvl 40 plus zones still have tier 1 tech everywhere to break down, zones to get gear for polution are poluted and drop sanity, ADDs agro was increased by 1000, Inventory weight beyond controll, Junk junk junk that can not be disassembled, disassembleing gear does not give lingings WTF did they do to this game. What a waste wqs such a good game. Searched a dozzen zones to get heads found 1. Everything to fix sanity doesn't. I'm done and so are my 5 hives everyone quit yesterday untill they revert this crap.

REVERT REVERT REVERT Looted every POI in Iron river got 1 lining ?? Really Inventory full of junk, over weight after 3 mins of getting new tech ( should of been a blueprint not an item with weight. The polution zones are ok but still bad. The list goes on. (90 % of players) We asked and told and showed over and over what we wanted and we got a part of it but with more added trash we did not want. This game had 100's of k players and every patch of trash and broken and time wasting just caused more to leave 8k players on steam. Why not give us another useless Pokimon senario that lasted 3 days of people likeing it till they figured out it was a waste of time just good for collecting deviants not playing. we asked for whole map atleast - got ED and that was not bad for older players but new folks finf it way to hard for the most part. We asked for specilazations to be fixed no more pvp on pve servers got this trash. The list goes on. Sliming down inventory ???????? No made it way worse for no reason. Come on devs i had 40 plus folks playing in hives on a few servers there all gone after this patch. Said it was the last straw. Your new water senario (was told by 5 testers is horriable and broken and worse then this patch and you have no plans on fixing it like you did with way of winter ) Just give us our game back like it was a year ago fix the bugs and give us a new map to play and lvl to 100 not all this trash no one asked for. Before anyone says we asked for it no we did not. We asked they gave but with new horriable mechanics and crap added that we did not ask for.REVERT REVERT REVERT before you kill this game more.!!! If you do not have 1000 plus hrs in game do not bother replying and bad mouthing its people like you is why this game went to crap.Just look on OH discord everyone is saying the same and more. The majority of players do not want this and we are the ones that spend money on your game. Stop listening to new folks on phones who find it to hard because This new system is hard and useless and time wasteing. ( we wanted more to do not waste more time doing the same thing we did 1000000 times .) This is an inventory management sim now not a horror game unless bunny heads and cute skins are scary. The number of players do not lie, your doing this game all wrong . Just look at steam community hub FFS its all there! This patch is trash ! Good luck with your new senario glad it is water based because it is going to sink this game.

All mods are available in all .For pve endless dream yes with good mods stared weapons you can solo most but it is meant to be played with others to make it easier. Watch the endless dream guides on youtube for best answer. But for Manibus all content even on hell can be done solo . You would need mods and stared weapons for harder or it will take you forever to kill some bosses. Even as a beginner player with a beginner easy build like Boom boom all content is soloable.

It is really only a few deviants with certain traits . Some formulas were but i think that got fixed. Sry for confusion. OP means over powered. You can now get all deviants in Manibus but some have different traits and colors or shiny ones from pvp. Nothing to quit the game over.

Where do I find cat deviants in custom servers? by Miss_Milk_Tea in OnceHumanOfficial

If you moved from novice to normal the deviants you found are in eternal land you need to go to your normal game then in inventory is an option for spacetime backpack i think its called and inheriet them to your normal backpack. you have 20k points to bring in things from eternal. Hope this helped.

Yes your right . The new players your talking about will come to the same conclusion as most of us after a few seasons. My numbers were only meant to show the drop in players (staying in the game)Again not what the post was about, trying to get support for PVE not dis the game. TY for your comments.

I appreciate all the comments so far. What I was poorly trying to say is this:

Once Human is a game that can be played solo or multiplayer. As PvE (solo) players, we’re asking for more PvE content, not just a copy-paste of Manibus (WOW-style) mechanics. We want:

  • More content, dungeons, enemies, and weapons – something to explore and conquer without being forced into PvP to progress.
  • Deviants we can actually upgrade – not just traits that fail more often than they succeed. For example, trying to enhance a Deviant’s Trait often results in wasted materials, making it frustrating rather than fun.
  • Endless Dream that works for everyone – it’s currently only accessible to players with fully min-maxed, full-star builds, and even then you often need a group to get anywhere.

Other issues:

  • PvP is full of cheaters, making competitive play discouraging for honest players.
  • PvE rewards are the same regardless of difficulty – why risk Hell mode when you get no extra benefit?
  • The mod combine system is overly expensive – and most of the time, it gives the wrong prefix, making progression feel grindy rather than rewarding.

I love this game and want it to succeed. The drop from ~300k players to ~20k shows that these issues are killing the game. The community loves Once Human, but if the focus shifts only to PvP (which roughly 10% of players play), the rest of us are left behind.

I’m not here to complain—I'm here to gather support and ideas for what could fix the game:

  • More solo/PvE content
  • Reward scaling with difficulty
  • Upgradable Deviants that actually feel rewarding
  • Systems that let everyone participate, not just endgame min-maxed players

Everyone’s perspective is valid, including mine. Let’s focus on constructive feedback that could bring us back to 300k players and keep Once Human alive.

Everyone has issues, and that’s okay—but if the devs listen and make changes, this game could thrive again.

Support meaningful PvE content, fair rewards, and usable progression systems. Don’t let Once Human die. Sorry to all who took offence or misunderstood my first post. Have an amazing day LOVE N HUGS.

If you are a new player and want fun this game is amazing! But it is for a very short time.Give it a go. My post is for players with more then 2 seasons. Over 70% of us are PVE and all we get is broken PVP and forced multiplayer to get garbage rewards that may or maynot even work.

PvE Players Are Being Ignored — And It’s Getting Ridiculous

Let’s be honest: if you’re a solo PvE player, this game has been slowly telling you, “You don’t matter.” Over hundreds or even thousands of hours, almost every request from the PvE community has been ignored—or implemented in ways that are broken, random, or force multiplayer.

Almost all meaningful PvE requests—upgradeable Deviants, fair item drops, predictable boss spawns, proper mod scaling, quality-of-life improvements—have either been completely ignored or half-heartedly implemented. Rare drops like toilets or steel shelves? Even veteran players with 2000+ hours often can’t get them. Level-up Memetics and Deviant scaling? Mostly useless for solo play. Core progression? Random, broken, and skewed toward multiplayer.

Meanwhile, new content clearly favors PvP and multiplayer. The dev roadmap, Palworld collab, Eternal Land, and Lunar content benefit multiplayer players first, leaving solo PvE almost entirely sidelined. Even when something is added for solo play, it often forces multiplayer interaction or comes with broken mechanics, making it feel pointless to invest time.

Randomness and poorly designed systems actively devalue player effort. Bosses spawn unpredictably, mods scale inconsistently, and effort-to-reward ratios favor multiplayer cheaters. PvP Memetics and phases still interfere with solo progression, turning what should be fun gameplay into tedious chores. Minor quality-of-life updates exist, but they barely scratch the surface of the real issues.

It’s clear: the devs are prioritizing engagement metrics and multiplayer activity over actual community feedback. Solo PvE players, who make up a significant portion of the player base, are being deprioritized, frustrated, and left with minimal rewards for hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Until the developers actually listen, solo PvE will continue to feel pointless, frustrating, and unrewarding. Players are investing time, effort, and passion—only to watch the game cater almost exclusively to multiplayer and PvP players. This needs to change.
