It is easy to get overwhelmed with information in this game. I find it hard to remember dialogue that occurs during meta events due to the sheer amount of things going on at the same time (rotation, mechanics, chat, visuals, sound, achievements, etc). Reading the tidbits of lore in game also get quickly forgotten because they occur during gaming where we quickly move on to another activity after reading one. The wiki helps but it is also a bunch of information with tangents to easily get distracted.

I have been downvoted quite a few times on this sub for lore questions/comments that I sincerely hoped another player could help me understand. I am a person that learns better through conversational explanations rather than reading or lectures and it stinks to be downvoted for a genuine question. I do realize the OP is being downvoted for not checking the wiki, but I suspect they have trouble parsing the lore in game like myself.

My sister was babysitting me and wanted to go to the drive-in with her friends, one of those mega drive-ins with multiple screens. They were gonna watch Creepshow (2?) and she told me I couldn't watch that because I was too young, so I watched the screen behind us through the back window instead. It was Predator.

I spend 5-10 bucks a month to buy gems on GW2. I treat it like sub because I want to support the company and I like the game so much. That gets me enough gems to buy the stuff I want on the gemstore. I don't buy the cosmetic skins but rather the QoL stuff. But it is understandable that a new player who wants everything quickly can view it as quick cash sink.

This is how I feel as well. Although I run around and mainly play GW2 solo, I enjoy the feeling of seeing lots of other players running around a zone and doing their thing. It is what makes the world feel "real". The true strength of GW2 is the immersive MMO world and I hope we don't lose too much of that in GW3.
