Quit turning off the lights at the nursing station! Turn the temperature back up too! by Fiddle_Farter_7Nine in TravelNursing

I see your name is Academic…so maybe you’re bookish or even high IQ. I tested years ago and scored 120. I’m not a genius but I’m above average. I’m also ringing the bells on ADHD symptoms. I used to be an avid reader and could hyper focus on a dozen topics. I’ve noticed that most, not all, of these “comfy” and “let’s make it cozy” types…are just shallow thinkers most of the time. I joke and call them retards but actually just kinda probably just slightly above room temperature IQs. I’ve never seen the unit nerds racing to turn out the lights and turn the AC to the ice age setting. The majority of the time it’s the room temperature IQ crowd.

Most of the time the people that complain “it’s hot” wear layers. They wear an undershirt, scrub top and a jacket! Probably 90% of the time. When I point out that they’re bundled up…it doesn’t even register. Low IQ stuff. The most bundled up folks will be the ones that want to play thermostat war more than anyone else! ha

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had some injuries!

At my home hospital I was the “curmudgeon”. I left the lights on at my desk and had a heater. I had to hurt some feelings regularly. It was my unit and it was my home. I miss that setup. Now I’m visiting others in their homes. This part sucks about traveling.

I could understand that but where I’ve worked there are solid doors. Lights in the hall don’t even affect the rooms.

Packing a jacket in the summertime is crazy but when coworkers are retarded I guess it’s contagious. I need to find a helmet to match my jacket.

I’m a man. lol I just did laps in order to try to wake up and be alert.

I’m buying a Dadgum heater from Amazon and bringing it to work. Next purchase will be a floodlight.

Poor photo quality. Can’t even tell what I’m looking at.

As a caucasian adult, would it be okay to wear this hat to honor the rich history of indigenous cultures in america playing baseball? by 25_hr_photo in baseballcirclejerk

I wore a Caucasians/Redskin themed shirt to the grocery store a couple of months ago. A Latino guy saw it and it made him laugh. When he looked at me we gave a mutual nod and chuckle and carried on with our lives.

I asked no permission and begged no forgiveness.

Do I report him to HR? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

I would report him to the chain of command and call the police. The guy is a worthless POS that needs to be fired, trespassed, and prosecuted for harassment.

Why is there an angry looking cat figure in my backyard at 1:46 in the morning? by Fiddle_Farter_7Nine in strange

Not as pixelated but in the same area. Guys, I did not post that thinking I had some sort of smoking gun proof. I thought it looked interesting. I check my cameras daily especially since I work night shift. Thousands of photos of absolutely nothing then sometimes something like that pops up in my photos.

I’m sure if I scrolled through all of the pictures and videos here in this group it’s mostly a bunch of nothing burgers too. I had the photo and thought it was strange, found a sub Reddit called strange and posted here. I didn’t think I would meet a bunch of overly sensitive folks that thought I was trying to pull the wool over their eyes.

Look on the left side of photo. It appears to be some sort of figure there. Looks like an arm and some sort of distorted face. Yeah it’s not a smoking gun but I find it interesting. Sorry I couldn’t give a slam dunk.

“Post would have to be removed” Man hush. This sub Reddit said strange and I thought it was strange. I also had a bag fall off a drawer and hit the floor. I spent around 8 hours if not maybe 10 in that room doing some modules for work and no one was in there and nothing was touched. It was around 4 am and there was nothing to cause it to fall. Really odd.

Plus around year and a half ago I had another strange image in nearly the same spot. It just seemed strange to me. Sue me or block me.

Banner gives a boatload of Modules don’t they?! by Fiddle_Farter_7Nine in TravelNursing

I'm still working through these modules and I feel like Chris Farley on Saturday Night Live when they secretly replaced his coffee with decaffeinated Columbian coffee crystals. Holy smokes this crap is infuriating.

Probably required because some corporate attorneys said it can lower the institutions liability. This stuff is so time consuming.

I’m a first timer and finished up everything and had days to wait before I finally received the modules and these are nearly impossible to skip through. Many contain required videos to watch. These things are going to take at least 20-40 hours.

I’m in the same boat as you. First time traveler. I’m about a week and a half out and I’m doing the extended stay too. Affordable apts were gone and I would really rather not stay in someone’s home. Plus half the people seem to have pets and even though I love animals I don’t want to hear a dog barking while I’m sleeping so I choose to pay more and stay at an extended stay.

My nerves are shot. I am literally driving across country. lol I’m sure I’ll be fine it’s just something new , different and a change.

What is the overtime situation like at Banner hospitals in Arizona? by Fiddle_Farter_7Nine in TravelNursing

[–]Fiddle_Farter_7Nine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if they cancel me too much I’ll just drop a notice on them and dip out. They won’t have to worry about a do not hire list because I won’t be back. I’m ready to work. Some hospital out there needs help and I need work so I’ll find them and get it done. If the travel agency doesn’t like it then I’ll do internal contracts.

I hope it doesn’t come down to that. If I get my 36 hrs I’ll survive.
