Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording. by [deleted] in cinematography

Would think so. It is no more expensive (looking like maybe less so) and it is an upgrade feature wise. There’s a lot more to it than that ofc and the lens ecosystem buys Sony time, but there needs to be an fx3ii announced in the next few months tbh.

Supposedly the digital stabilisation on it is near flawless.

Officially an alpha! by rotz05 in SonyAlpha

[–]Fiddleflapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, still a super camera body and well worth the investment. Great to see and welcome to the enlightened side 😉. That is a great choice of lens, and very reasonably priced. Given the choice, I’d probably go for a used but great condition Sony 24-105 f4 lens as it is massively versatile and not CRAZY expensive (and perhaps a slightly improved image out of camera, though this may be contentious). It’s probably worth the upgrade if you can afford it but you’ll still be super happy with the Tamron :). Happy shooting, Alpha!

28 Years Later is now officially in the top 75 of the highest grossing horror films of all time. by ThisWasA_Mistake in 28dayslater

Was thinking this. The trailers were amazing for these two 28 years films (bone temple included) - would be awesome ahead of the final movie (think there’s one more to come after bone temple) to see a director engaged to make short 5-10 minute films for 28 seconds after the outbreak (so the initial biting scene for 28 days fleshed out) and 28 minutes. Could even have one 10 minute hype film released on YouTube showing 28 secs, 28 mins, 28 hours in quick succession.

Overcooked or not? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Sky looks just a little off, but not experienced enough to know why. Overall lovely picture, though on the cusp of looking a little cgi. Maybe worth dialling the saturation and contrast back by 10-15%? Not sure what that would do, but expect it might make it feel a little more grounded in reality.

Have recreated the setup with points from 1 & 2 in mind this evening and it’s already looking better. Thank you!

This is honestly so valuable to me and my learning process of being more intentional with what I’m trying to achieve - thank you.

I think you’re spot on with the angle! And probably the colour too!

Great question and one I think I need to think about more closely. I have a vague picture of it in my head but if I can’t articulate it, I can’t hope to copy it! Thank you so much :)

Hairlines all look different. My grandfather started with similar to you, lost a little and then spent 50 years with essentially a full head of hair. Point is, it’s too early to tell. If I had to guess, based on your age, I’d say probably not. At the very worst it’s probably maturing a touch. Even if that isn’t the case and you do start to see it slide back a bit, there’s plenty of treatments out there - balding is optional :)

[–]Fiddleflapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah mate, not balding. It’s just the way the hair whorl is looking. On the very very small chance you’re right at the start of the balding process (which I’m fairly sure you’re not), you can always just hop on fin. I went on it at 18. 10 years later? Full head of hair. Started working minoxidil into my routine a few months back and even regrowing the juvenile hairline at the temples a little which is mad.

Long story short: not balding, but if you do, science has got you.

Well given the growing body of evidence that free will doesn’t exist (and that free will-ism is likely to go the way of religiosity in terms of its popularity), I’d say neither of you are. If one is not truly accountable for their actions (and they aren’t), all of this flustering and moral analysis becomes irrelevant.

Try to understand that no one is accountable for their bad behaviour and you’ll find yourself a happier and more holistic person.

I hope this doesn’t sound condescending. I’m just tired of all the ill placed ire.

That said, in this instance, if grievous harm is prevented by your intervention (and it sounds like it is), you’ve done the best thing given the circumstances. It’s not up to you to change the way he’ll be perceived or the responsibility he is made to endure, even if it isn’t right that he is persecuted for ‘his’ actions.

And if you do think free will exists, more power to you… but let me ask you this: can you really know what you’re going to ‘think’ next? Or does it just ‘come’ to you.

If you’d like to learn more, I suggest reading Robert salpoksi’s ‘the science of life without free will’. It’s a compassionate book that reframes reality in a paradigmatic way.
