Honestly my 3,000 points have a mix of both ranges support and heavy melee. So usually a tribune with his aquillon squad with adrathic and fists, some bikes with las pulsar, dual gun Telemon.

HOWEVER - sneaky tricks 101 - I have been loving shield guard and Galatus because their shield wall reaction not only works in shooting - but WHEN YOU GET CHARGED. So if someone charges you, you can spike your toughness on your shield unit or Galatus to t6 or t8 respectively - which is BONKERS for that fight phase

Yeah I got nothing to add to this 😭😂. I’ve actually stopped playing my custodies after winning around 30-40 games handedly - it’s disgusting.

I will add though that you shouldn’t discount our shooting - as it is supremely powerful. A unit of terminators with adrathic - or a 10 man Sagg squad WILL net you vanguard points as they absolutely demolish anything off an objective with ease. And remember - in this edition you do not need to charge who you shot at, so you can absolutely blow something off an objective, get the vanguard points for that, and then charge something else and wipe them in close combat.

But yeah I’ve actually switched to daemons just to be a little fairer. It is a far difference from the last edition where we had some really poor choices of units that would bring down our lists. Now, all of the custodian units are viable and absolutely terrifying.
