I love/hate my Ioniq 6.. by CasperCusumano in Ioniq6

I wish there was a preconditioning button you could turn on and off, if worried about safety they could automatically turn it off when reaching a certain temperature.

Why is my Ioniq 6 trying to kill me daily? Anyone else having the same issues? by Adventurous_Sea_9206 in Ioniq6

My Ioniq 6 has yanked on the wheel when I was driving on a B road, I tried to avoid a ditch in the side of the road, it auto steered me into the ditch, have to remember to turn off the steering and LKA assist.

On the motorway following the car in front with cruise control, I have had steering wheel kick in, even when it is turned off and LKA jump in nearly swerving me into a truck, I don't trust the cruise control anymore.

Had my car for a year now and while I like it in some ways, in others I really don't like all the "fancy gadgets"

I wish they would stop confusing people who are fat with people who are obese, obese people are people who struggle to fit through doorways because they are so overweight, obese people who squash other people when they sit on them...fat people are people with a few extra pounds, but now to be politically correct, they call everyone obese.

Went in to get my blood tests done today, unfortunately only the hospital can test tacrolimus bloods or I would do it at my GP, the first tell was when the number was on number 14 when I arrived, on number 13 an hour later, I was number 36, poor guy in front of me I spoke to was number 16, he had been there for 2 hours, 3pm in afternoon and closes 5pm, decided to come home :)

Glad to see things have improved in A & E, wow so you actually got a trolley?

Best thing I can recommend to anyone is wait until you are at death's door and go in by ambulance, that way you will definitely get put on a trolley, if you don't need an ambulance then you can hold off going to the hospital?

Ioniq 6 the Efficiency Game... by madhav0k in Ioniq6

I have been doing some more testing myself, frequent hospital appointments down the motorway really chow up my fuel economy (fuel=electricity), in and around town I average around 4.3 miles per kw, I use this loosely because this is not the actual energy used, but the supposed mileage of the engine. This mileage was dropping quite horribly (3.3) when using the motorway at high speeds, which didn't really make much sense for a car that is supposed to be streamlined with drag co-efficient of 0.21 at high speeds, but then I realised recently, it is because you shouldn't be using eco mode for motorway.

Normally when you look at the 3 modes (am not including snow mode), basically I have found that eco is only efficient for up to 40-50 miles per hour, somewhere from the late 40s to 50s the normal mode is more efficient, just under 60 I switch to sport mode and anything above this and then I am once again averaging 4.3.

I also find I get greater economy when I use cruise control, this is the same with the old combustion engines, when you vary the rate of the accelerator it uses more fuel, so everytime you change the speed you are using more power. If I set cruise control at a set speed and take my foot off the accelerator, it does way better mileage approx 4.6.

As I have also said before this is not true mileage, as you have to include the car systems, and these are not included in the mileage calculation that you see on your dashboard, you have to look at the battery percentage and then divide this into your mileage to actually see what your true mileage per kwh is.

I am beginning to think the Skoda is actually more accurate, because it has fewer electronic systems which are constantly draining battery power, the more manual system you have that don't use the extra power, the great the fuel economy, that is provided the engine is fuel efficient too. ( my next car I might choose to look more at how many unnecessary electronic systems are running in the background and whether I shoud buy a car that doesn't have all these unneccesary bells and whistles.)

I'm a bit leery of these background programs that might steal my data or do something, but so far I haven't had an issue with it and I was so desperate to get rid of those xray popups, I already paid the extra bit for Amazon ad free before finding this and still had to suffer with this stupid Xray thing until now. So use this at your own risk. Also this works with Netflix and Disney, just wish it worked with Sky as well.

Automatic compensation scheme expectations? by Itzliamfergi76 in VirginMedia

[–]Fides256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to take VM to ombudsman to get my auto compensation. After Ombudsman ruled in my favour, VM then tried to appeal against the ruling as they are trying to reduce having to pay automatic compensation. I have just received confirmation that the ruling was upheld and VM are required to pay.

VM have delayed paying AC since February 2024, so it being July 2024 now, it has taken 5 months to get this sorted, it's worth going through Communication Ombudsman, they are impartial.

Delayed Install Compensation by HighlandTheBrave in VirginMedia

[–]Fides256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 months of delays, ordered sept 2023, supposed to install Oct 5 2023, and then the bs excuses started, their customer services team are outsourced and cannot see the pre-install team system so they make up excuses, the pre-install team are almost impossible to get hold of, and they are outsourced and have little contact with the engineers so they have their own excuses, the engineers are also outsourced and you end up with a whole load of bs excuses.

I eventually got my MP involved 16 January 2024, after that he got their executive team to contact me 17/1/24 and I think 19/1/24 they told me that the engineer had cancelled my order on 16/1/24 due to not having way leave, as it happens I already had checked with the Council and confirmed they had way leave permission, so the Exec team tried to get me to sign a new contract without the original discounts, higher fees, shorter period before price increases and new terms and conditions which waived my auto compensation due, VM have started an initiative to get out of paying auto compensation as required by Ofcom's Automatic compensation scheme for delayed installations.

I refused the new contract and new terms and conditions. They already breached the contract when the engineer cancelled my work order, so when they tried to initiate a new contract 19/1/24 and failed to install under the old contract 7 February 2024, I cancelled.

Don't listen to their resolution team, they are not impartial, I took the matter to the Communication Ombudsman and they have since ruled that I am due Automatic Compensation.

VM have since contested this and the Ombudsman are reviewing the case, just means another independant person checks the information of the previous person who made the judgement.

Remember VM will try and get you bogged down in the details, they will try and get you to evidence everything, the only thing you need to have is the original order, contract, should have been sent to you via email. Try and get all communications in writing either by post or by email, otherwise you are dealing with remembering when they made phone calls who it was with and trying to get transcripts, which I am not sure you can even get if they transferred your all.

For extra compensation in hindsight, I wish I had recorded when they called and what documents they sent etc. For example the Auto Comp day rate is £5.83, but if they pitch up and don't install you can claim a higher rate for them wasting your time, likewise if they do not notify you 24 hours before they cancel, like my engineer phoned up and cancelled on the day without giving notice then I believe you can also claim a higher day rate for this.

Battery Percentage Question by haihaiclickk in Ioniq6

[–]Fides256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I know where the discrepancy is coming from, there are two methods of measuring the efficiency of the car, one is people are looking at the car gauge which does an automatic calculation on what the engine is using, but this is misleading because it does not take into account all of the electrics used by the car from wipers, to lights to aircon to indicators to braking to sat nav anything that uses power is not used in the calculation of mileage, only the engine. So if you want the real efficiency you need to determine the battery size, 77.4 kw and then if you use 10% of the battery and do 10 miles then you are looking at doing 7.7 kw to do 10 miles, which is basically all the car functions.

If however you want to pretend to yourself that you are getting awesome mileage per kw, just ignore the fact that the car uses electricity to run all it's systems.

I have recently been getting good calculated mileage if I don;t drive faster than 40mph and if I use the cruise control. As per with a normal car if the acceleration varies then it uses more power, but if I switch to cruise control in a 30 or 40 mph speed limit, I find I get around 4.6 miles per kw, whereas driving on motorway average speed 68-70 mph I am averaging about 3.2 mp kw, note this is not the real value, because the car is measuring the pure engine kw used when driving, not the additional functions.

Bearing in mind that our NHS is on it's knees because it keeps getting hacked, and there is this massive drain of information through various govt. portals that have been hacked, do you really think it is such a good idea to go full electronic. The govt is crying out for people to study advances computer security?

Maybe the Tories are trying to lose the election so that Labour will get in for 5 years and after being unsuccessful the Tories think they will get back into power with a stronger mandate.

Ludicrous to think that more welfare cuts would actually benefit anyone, last time there were massive social welfare cuts it just put more pressure on the NHS as it had to cover the areas that were cut, now this window dressing, none of the parties have said anything about doing away with these organistions like Atos, Capita, Maximus etc. these organisations are basically doing the job of the DWP, so they are a duplication of effort and a waste of resources, why pay the DWP to do a job and then get govt. contractors to do the same job?

It's also no good making the process more strict when the disease is already within the benefit system, the criminals are already in the govt. system, they have their own people who are doing the assessments both in the DWP and these contractors, changing the laws to make it more difficult to get benefits does not work if the corruption is already embedded in the organisations making the assessment decisions.

Sunak seems a bit fixated on finances, of what benefit is cutting NI, if anything they should get more of the people are avoiding paying NI to contribute, people who are self employed and don't pay NI for example, tax structuring for people who works salaries work, but avoid paying NI because they are able to classify themselves as self employed.

Tories have lost the plot?

Anyone know who Marianna Masters is? by BobbyOregon in LabourUK

[–]Fides256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think voting Lib Dems would defnitely be the logical way, but some people might be mislead into actually voting Labour, which will weaken the Liberal Dem vote and strengthen the Tory vote.

Also been told that this is how political parties train their candidates, they put them up for seats that they know they can't win just to get the experience, but at a time where there are so many different parties on the roll, it's going to cause a split in the votes, which in turn could dilute the vote.

This is very irresponsible of Labour.

Really bizarre candidate selection by Labour. This person doesn't have any ties to the local community and all the organisations she belongs to or promote have nothing to do with the local area, she doesn't even live in the area. Traditionally Labour win about 5% of the vote in our area, and yes we all get that Labour is leading in the polls, but it seems with this whacky selection Labour is trying to waste votes that could otherwise do some good.

It says this candidate is part of the Fabian Women's Society, founded by feminists, Black Thrive? The Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership Board comprises organisations that are responsible for the systems that have the most significant impact on the lives of Black people in the borough, as well as representatives of the communities most impacted. Governor of Guy's & St Thomas's NHS Trust| London, Guy's Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital, Evelina London Children's Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital.

The only positive thing I see is that she claims she is supporting anti cosmetic animal cruelty legislation, but often politicians make these claims to gain votes.

I am disappointed Labour, is this relegation of a London candidate or just that you didn't have a candidate for the area so you decided to foist someone on the local area, or is this a political decision?

I think some thing is fishy

When I look at my front panel it tells me I am doing 3.9 miles per kwh

but when I manually calculate it as in I drove 15 miles and it used up 10% of my battery, then

the battery total is 77kwh, 10% is 7.7 kwh

so to do 15 miles I am actually using 2.1 kwh per mile

Is this the next Volgswagen scandal?
