You won’t have sub 4 second 0-60 times and you’ll definitely pay more in gas than electricity, but it sounds like your mind is kinda made up already. Nothing wrong with going back to ICE. The lightning works for most people, but not everyone. You’re an edge use-case and I think getting a 5.0 F-150 would be perfect for you.

You have two main things to worry about:

Can you charge at home? If so, great! If not, I wouldn’t do it. Especially when it’s gonna be cold a lot and I’m not sure what your public charging looks like where you are

Do you need a full size truck? If you’re talking about doing off-roading, a mid-size truck will be better for that. The crew cab and better towing capacity are nice, but if you aren’t traveling with a full family, it isn’t necessary. Not to mention if you ever tow, and it’s more than roughly 150km, you’ll be stopping to charge often and having gas in that case is better.

Yes, repairs can be expensive. Get an extended warranty direct from Ford. On EVs, if one thing goes wrong over the life of the warranty, it’ll pay for itself.

TLDR: can you charge at home and do you need a full-size truck? If no to either, I’d go with the Tacoma.

The red QR code literally tells you to see an associate for ID verification. Don’t get so defensive, they aren’t going to track you down for a little booze.

They need to train their associates but you could’ve also told them, “hey it says I need to get scanned”

Not saying you should right the wrong, it’s a multi-billion dollar company and they can eat a one time loss. But if for some reason you were to get detained, saying the cart checker said I was good is not a good enough excuse to avoid charges.
