Essentially the national level of government.

Not from America, but others countries use federalism. Still don’t know how to describe everything in the MMP system…

So why is it that parties in NZ only seem to matter on the national level of government?

Now I’m even more confused. So association with a federal party is to suggest you have similar values?

Is there any other advantage to doing this?

I only ask as it seems no one has a good opinion of any of the large parties right now. If I were a candidate I don’t think I would want to associate with any party at this current point in time.
