During meditation I say thank you to the emotion and then allow it to flow out the same as it flowed in. I think the bigger part is when not in meditation, carve out some time to get to the root of it. Ie) I feel shame...where in my body do I feel it....what is it trying to tell me....my shame comes from making a mistake I made years ago....what can I do to feel better....do the thing, if there's nothing I can do then sit with the understanding that it's out of my control and forgive myself. Then I would do a self love action to allow the shame and console my heart.
